Save the pic to your hard drive. Open it in any image manipulation program. I imagine Kodak supplied its own with your camera; if not, Adobe PhotoShop, Corel PhotoPaint, or any similar program will do. Crop the pic so that it's nice and square and then resize it so that it's no larger than 11,700 bytes and 70 pixels on a side. Rename it and save it as a JPEG file. Voilà! An avatar ready to upload. To do this, click on the "Profile" link on the forum's discussion index page (the first page you see when you enter the discussion forum); the link is near the top of the page on the right hand side. On your profile page, scroll down to the bottom to the "Avatar Control Panel." Click the "Browse" button next to "Upload Avatar from your machine." Go find your recently saved pic and double-click on it. Then click the "Submit" button at the bottom of your profile page. You're done--and we can now put a face to your name. Yay!

CJ,
Thank you for jumping in and answering - the instructions are very well put. I can't improve on them.
The femme item I'm probably lagging most behind with is makeup. My wife doesn't use it, but she did buy me a dept store makup gift kit which I really haven't used lately. Holiday preparations, etc. are getting my priority now. It takes time away from the internet and I want to have at least a semi-presentable picture before uploading it for an avatar.
Learning about and using makeup is at the top of my New Year femme todo list. In the meantime, I will google for a different quick and dirty avatar.
Carol Ann,
I hope CJ's instructions get you there. If you run into trouble, please ask and we will do our best to point you in the right directions to get a picture up here for your avatar.

Hi,
Can someone direct me to where I can find a nice avatar on the web?
This website is no longer working
All I seemed to find was cartoon type avatars
( I'm not too great with all this computer stuff
)
I would like an avatar that has to do with "Love"
, or maybe even just a very pretty heart
or something like that,
any suggestions?....
Thanks,

I have uploaded some avatars and put them on a webpage for anyone to use. They can be found here http://whynotb12.com/avatar.html
Hope some of you can use them.
Hugs,
Stef

LOL!!! Kurt and Courtney!Alexandra wrote:I was just lurking and checked to see what was on google's images first page for "love" and found this:
Although I must say I wish Kurt Cobain was still alive. I really liked Nirvanna's music. It would have been great to hear some new stuff.
Live it. Love it. OWN IT.
