You look great, hon!
Like Carol Ann said, it does take a bit of practice and for what its worth, two things, buy some "ladies" magazines. Vogue, Elle, Cosmo and see how those girls are made up. The second thing is don't buy the cheap stuff = make-up. One of our sisters hit the nail on the head a while ago -its called "Cover Girl" for a reason. It is not called Cover Guy!
Keep the faith honey you are doing great!

Thanks sisters,
Your kind words on my disguise of an old geezer are balm to the heart and an elixir to the soul.
Eye makeup is a special problem for me. One eye is naturally farsighted, the other has a new lens (repacing one with a cataract), so glasses are very necessary for reading and other close ups. Also my hands are not as steady as they used to be. Even penciling eyedbrows is a problem.
I buy makeup at the supermarket, and ignore any strange glances at the checkout counter. My SO thinks I am suitable to go out in to the world en femme. I am not so sure - besides I am a coward. I admire many of you for your fortitude - especially you, Jeannie.
In any case, your support is much appreciated.
Hugs,
Lydia

You do look lovely Lydia!
I'm generally like SL for makeup - take my glasses of and get really close to the mirror. But there are some alternative approaches. My optomtrist has a smart technique when I wear contact lenses. One eye has a full strength prescription. But in my left eye I use lenses that that are about 11/2 powers lower than full strength. This doesn't affect my long distance vision noticeably but it allows me to see quite well at shorter distances without reading glasses, Great for makeup too. I don't know if you can use contacts Lydia but some others may do so. Most lens manufacturers also make multifocal contacts - I haven't tried them but they sound very good. I also wear full strength contacts sometimes and then use my wifes spare progressive reading glasses which are a lovely shape! The complexities of getting old
