Hi all,

This is the view from atop a hillock in Angrignon Park, a mere five-minute walk away from my home. The beauty of here resides in the fact that I can walk ten minutes north and get to the Lachine Canal with its bike paths that wend their way along the waterfront leading either back into town or towards the western tip of the island of Montreal; I can walk five minutes west and get to Angrignon Park with its 20,000 trees spread over 97 hectares and the 25 or so animal species living there in the summertime. As you can see in the photo, from the Park I can also get a glimpse of my beloved city whenever I need to (a five- or ten-minute drive along the highway or a twenty-minute ride on the subway gets me to the heart of Montreal).

Terri, I hope you dont mind me showing pics of places I dont actualy live in ,but am going on the" beauty of here" theme you started with in your original post. It has to be nice to have great views every day and I am glad I get to see what I do each morning, even if its just the garage door opening so I can go to work LOL
The beauty of here may just depend on where you are at the moment I guess and some pics are nice reminders of where you have been even if its not home.
Here is a canal off Roken St , Amsterdam, last year,, I know they have no mountians there but trust me I wish I was back right now :) :)

This is where my avatar pic was taken and where Ed proposed to me!

We have a view of the sea from our house but not quite this one as we are a couple of miles to the west of here.

Realized with the scenic views locally I need to take more pictures, but here's a couple.

The view south from the pier in Pacifia, just over the hill from my house (relatively speaking, it's actually about a half-hour drive).

And here's a view of the Mendocino Coast (just outside Elk, CA) north of San Francisco. Foggy and wet as usual.

This was taken some years ago in Tahiti. The hole in the mountain is real, but the creatures are added Jurassic.
