Congratulations....(on the nipple piercings...not being mistaken for an OAP :P)
Now CJ...pics please... of your newly pierced chest! We won't mention the inequality or irony of your being able to post pics of your 'male' chest but not of Christina's or pics of my own, not that I have anything as exciting as piercings to show

Never forget...40's are the new 30's *-* *-* *-*

Seriously, if it makes you feel better.............just do it.

Love from the looking forward to the next 20 years, Carolynn

You old geezer!

Hi CJ
I went to Price Chopper to do grocery shopping and bought a coffee and bagel four years ago at 53. The young girl gave me the senior citizen discount. That was so sweet. I felt so special.
You are so right about doctors CJ. They never use the P word, pain. They just say"This might be a bit uncomfortable" which is the buzz phrase for"This is going to hurt like Hell!"
Hugs ladies. I have the tub all filled with bubble bath,a glass of Scotch ,candles and I'm going to shave myself silly! Life is good.

Hey CJ,

Wow!! There was a lot in there. I am also 46 as you know. I have pierced nipples, which I did myself, on several different occasions. And I have got hit on by a girl who was 23 at the time, my wife Raven.

I don't know if you remember the television show Thirty-Something? There was this episode where one of the men characters comes into the office and said "Invisibility to teenagers". The other character is like "what?". And he replies. "I have become invisible to teenagers. I remember most of my life including when I was a teenager, that teenage girls are attracted to me. But not anymore. I am invisible to them. I was just called sir by some teenage girls asking for directions". (this may not be the exact quote, it's been a long time, but it was something like this).

We all reach an age where we suddenly realize that if we don't start getting around to some of those things we were going to get around to, we aren't ever going to get around to them. So instead of doing what we have done our whole lives, which is to put off the decision, instead we make it. We risk doing the wrong thing, just so we can do something. And taking risks reminds us of our youth and that is invigorating.

Personally, I am glad to see it. I love my nipple rings. If I would have known it felt that good, I would have done it years before. But i have to tell you. They feel the best while healing. I have done mine twice because over time they slowly work to the edge. I simply let them heal and peirced them again. Which is probably the most painful thing I have ever done to myself, but it's appealing for some strange reason that escapes me.

Nothing like waking up and knowing that something might happen that you didn't expect to happen when you woke up the morning before.

Love always,
Elizabeth

Hi all,

Damn, but it's good to see all these familiar faces after being stuck so long in the "winter blahs" closet! Thanks for popping into this thread, gentle friends.

Curly,

My camera got stolen from my backpack last month while I was on the bus (presumably, NOT by the same girl who offered me her seat earlier this week!). Life in the big city, sometimes, eh? But, have no fear, dear Curly: this morning--well, yesterday morning now, I guess--I went to Future Shop and bought myself exactly the same camera and accessories (for almost C$ 100 less than I paid for them five months ago, as a matter of fact!) so, yes, photos will be forthcoming. After all, you showed us yours--tat, I mean--so it's only fair that I show you my own new body decorations. Eventually.

Elizabeth, Carolynn, Jeannie,

As I typed the very first sentence in my original post in this thread, I sort of realized this might actually be a "bucket list" thread (cf., Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman). I owe the girl on the bus a favour; without this being her intention, she made me realize that, although I always suppose that I could die happily tomorrow--I have very few regrets--there are so many things both big and little that I've always wanted to do in my life but just never got around to them. Having my nipples pierced was but one of those things.

Here's my own "bucket list" of things I'd want to see myself doing at least once in my life:

- Freefall skydiving
- Meditating for an hour at Angkor Wat
- Bathing in the Ganges
- Participating in a TG weekend ball
- Going on a fishing trip with my father
- Visiting the ten largest cities in the U.S.
- Spending a summer trekking the vast Canadian northern wilderness
- Being a sexual slave to a Mistress (hmmm... TMI, maybe?)
- Having a piece I wrote be published
- Circling the pyramids at Gizeh on the back of a camel
- Meeting a few online friends face-to-face
- DJ'ing at a massive 48-hour rave party
- Seeing all the members of my immediate family in the same room at once
- Taking hormones or t-blockers
- Operating a small, independent, used bookstore
- Gazing at the Milky Way through one of the Mount Palomar telescopes
- Living completely free from generalized existential anxiety
- Touring Europe for an entire year
- Getting rid of that hangnail that's been bothering me for the last two decades
- Kicking the smoking habit
- Eating a full course meal in a restaurant where nothing on the menu is under US$ 200
- Driving an Italian sports car from coast to coast in under two days

Well, there you go. I'm sure there's more. But it starts with two nipple rings.

Get your gear together, girls, and, as my sister Virginia would say, go forth and BE!

Love,
CJ

CJ! That's a thread that will never end!

Hi Hon
The bucket list! You're a genious. Start a thread beautiful. I have just one on my list.

1. Getting the freakin' Warden,Mini off my back!

Mini just called and said" Where's John Paul? I just called him and he's not answering his phone! Go down stairs and see if he's there and tell him to call me now!" Never and I mean never marry a connected Sicilian woman. There's no way out. I try but always get a call from her Uncle Dicky in Las vegas who says"What did you say to Domenica Maria? Did I hear right?" I'm doomed.Hugs

Gosh CJ...I have a few years on you, but it only recently dawned on me that I'm get older also. Sure, sure...so we get senior discounts...but its the aches and pains that remind you. Paying for our younger days and all the motorcycle crashes, broken bones and silliness. But my SO convinced me to pierce my ears (no pain there) and I'm thrilled with that! But she has been teasing me about piercing my nipples...ummm...she's just teasing.....right? Ok..she is, really..she can't think.......No way. Arghhhhhhh. BTW, I have a "gotta do" list also. Figured before I push up daisies, I wanna try or do things I'll never regret not doing (within reason). Heck, it keeps us alive and kicking. Go for the Gusto, we only go around once!!!!!!
Hugs

I would recommend touring Europe in that Italian Sports Car

I have some of those 'must do before I kick the buckets' in common with you...apart from

freefall diving....scared of heights :? 8-[

give up smoking...don't smoke O:)

Don't have a hangnail... :P

Don't want to be a sexual slave to a Mistress...8-[ :run: Err... :-k Mmm

Might be needing hormones at some point in my life

Having never met your Father...couldn't comment on whether I'd want the fishing trip or not
:P :-k ^^_||

Love,
Curly :)

Hi all,

Yeah, Curly... you'd definitely want the fishing trip with my Dad. He's a retired child psychologist, an outdoorsy type, an armchair philosopher (the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, it seems), a lover of animals, a lover of good conversation as much as of silence, and a deeply spiritual man; he's someone whose brain is just plain fun to pick... there's always some amazing nugget of wisdom tumbling out of his mouth.

Hmmm... ::CJ thinking about the tiny, twisty, winding streets of European cities:: ...think I'll do Europe by rail or trekking and keep the speed wheels for wide open spaces.

Love,
CJ

You want pain, I can give you pain!!! Your in a not to familiar gym, your training is behind because of circumstances beyond your control. You need to do some squats, so you begin your warm-ups and slowly advance to a training weight, in this case, 555 pounds. You put on your belt, your knee wraps and prepare to hoist this thing on your back, unlock your knees, descend into hell then try and stand up, when up walks this, this cute young lady who is evidently impressed with all the plates on the bar and the fact that it has a slight bend to it and she asks, "Gee, how much is on that bar?" Trying to be non-challant, "oh, around 550!" response, "What ya gonna do with it?" "Gonna do some squats, I hope!?" with a slight laugh, then comes the coup de gras ----------- "Why!" she queries. At that point all hell breaks loose in your mind! Yeah, like why am I doing this? It's gonna hurt, I could kill myself, or worse yet embarrass myself in front of all these strangers, if I don't get it!?

That is mental and physical pain and the mental part stays with you forever! "What am I doing this for??" as your knees pop, your back screams, your eye balls almost explode in your head and you feel like your lungs are going to collapse.

Then it becomes the old adage, right CJ? Why climb that mountain?

BECAUSE IT'S THERE!!!!!!

You go girl!!

Actually...you are right, CJ, better off doing trains  Ed and I tried to drive into Florence but as we got closer Ed made the sensible decision to turn round and find the nearest train station 8-[ Italian cities are scary places to drive! Maybe a Maserati for driving down the Amalfi Coast :P

That is one thing I'm planning on doing in the future....travel around Europe by train, that would be so cool 8)

Love,
Curly.

P.S....book me a place on your Dad's fishing boat

Hi all,

Virginia,

You're absolutely right. When you think about it, almost anything we (humans) do, we do because "it's there"; from the migrations of the Neanderthals to the launching of interstellar probes, we always seek out and then push back our limits. I think the reason we get into trouble sometimes is that we don't always take the time to evaluate whether or not the "there" where the "it" is found is actually a good place to want to go. But go we must, eh?

Curly,

When I was a young mmMMm..a young mmmnnggnn... a young mmaannggnn... oh hell! a young person, I spent four and a half months tooling around Western Europe. I hitchhiked, mostly, but also took trains and buses as I worked my way (sshhh... don't tell anyone!) down from Amsterdam to Malaga. (Those Spanish trains with the church pew seats are a blow to the lower back, I have to say... but Roxanne--who's half Indian--told me that I haven't experienced a hellish train ride until I've taken a rail trip around India.) I loved travelling through Europe. I only saw four countries in those four months, though; The Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Spain, as I travelled mostly in a southerly zig-zag. When I was in Calais, in the north of France, I could, in fact, see the white cliffs of Dover, and, today, I find it a stupid decision on my part not to have paid a visit to the lower British Isles--to London, especially. To think, I could've waved to you from where I stood on the cliffs of Calais (not that you would've seen anything, of course!).

My Dad says: "Tell your friends Curly and Honor that the gear is packed; the beer is in the cooler; the flies in the tackle box; the canoes by the water." Heh. No, not really; the lakes here are still frozen solid. Come spring, maybe.

Regarding the "bucket list," I would imagine that many forum members would have some transgender-related item or other on this list. Am I wrong? Spend a week en femme, or some such thing? Input, gals, please! What is your "only rational response to getting old"?

Love,
CJ

It would be nice not to have to get up in the middle of the night and go to the restroom.

But, one must be carerful of that wish, one just might not get up until after going! #-o

CJ....

Looks like you and me both chose the 'let's inflict pain on ourselves cos it reminds us how it feels to be alive' option rotf

CJ....
When I was a young mmMMm..a young mmmnnggnn... a young mmaannggnn... oh hell! a young person, I spent four and a half months tooling around Western Europe.
When I was a young girl...many moons ago  I spent two and a half months in your neck of the woods! When I was sixteen years old, I spent the summer in the U.S.A. Most of the time I stayed with my Grandmother in Michigan, by Lake Michigan. But before that, I spent two weeks with my Aunt and cousins in New Hampshire. Actually, I even went to Montreal...but only to catch the train to Sarnia with my 16 year old cousin  The only memories I have of Montreal are of the French road signs and the train station...which I seem to think was underground? :?

What a wonderful, carefree summer that was... @@9@@ I will put that on my bucket list...though the carefree feeling and the start of a life unknown can never be recreated :( I have a wonderful cousin and her family living in Vermont so will be making that journey one day I hope.

I've just remembered...I have always wanted to go to the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia (even though I cannot say that without thinking of the Laurel and Hardy song...ever #-o :P ) So you better watch out, S.L and Virginia, that is going on my bucket list too
