UPDATE
Well girls... today was the big Job Fair at Nassau Coliseum.
It was okay, and not to my suprise, it was REAL crowded. In order to get to many of the booths I had to stand in a long line, just like an amusement park.
However, I did leave resumes with a LOT of good companies including: Stare Farm Insurance, Long Island Rail Road, Bloomingdales, Macys, EDO (a technology company), Cingular Wireless, Modell's Sporting Goods, Newsday, Cablevision, Progressive Insurance, Super Enterprises (a window company), along with a couple more temp agencies I did not already have under my belt.
I also signed up to take civil Service exams for the US Postal Service, and the Nassau County Dept of Corrections.
Then on the way home I noticed that Party City was taking applications for Halloween Help. Without missing a beat I walked right in & filled out an application!
I should hear from them, if nobody else. It's only seasonal, but that should be long enough to tide me over until I hear from one of the other companies! Knock on wood...
I'm keeping my fingers crossed because this has been the WORST year of my life in terms of work...I've suffered enough... PLEASE let something happen...

Not to worry Lorna!!!!
Fellow walks into an interview. He is fresh out of college, and this is his first since graduation. It seems to go well, but just as he is about to take his leave, the interviewer, out of nowhere, says "How much is 7x3?"
The interviewee is surprised and, though he knew the correct answer, he advanced it one number as though he were counting and blurted out "22"!
The interviewer said, "Ok, that will be all", and the fellow left feeling really low as he was now sure he had lost out on the job. But, a week later he gets a call from the company telling him he was hired. He reported for his first day on the job, and found himself facing the man who had interviewed him. Uncomfortable, he asked, "I know I answered your last question wrong, and was sure I was not going to be offered the job. How come you called me?"
The X-interviewer answered gloomily, "Well, you were closest......."!
So, the unexpected can happen!!!
