Greetings everyone.

For my first post as your newest moderator, I want to thank you all for your support and will do my best to keep this forum the kind of place that attracted me here a little over two months ago now. As I was told when I took on the job, the pay sucks, but the rewards would be worth so much more. Hmm, still wondering about that one! :-k Of course they are!! =D> (The only down side is that I kind of enjoyed being a goddess, so the new title is probably gonna take some getting used to). ))ok((

Seriously though, I was honoured to be given the opportunity to moderate and hope that y'all don't hide or feel a need to be any different around me whenever I show up here. :) Actually, when I first started dressing and going out at night, you would have had a good reason to be scared of me. I was pretty scary looking with my poor makeup skills and ill fitting clothing, haphazard barettes (no proper wig) and totally clueless in femme deportment department. (Try saying THAT after a few ||oo|| ). Thankfully, these days, I've progressed somewhat  and gotten used to people being much more comfortable around me. Hope that continues here.

It is also my hope that this forum continues to be a comfortable and supportive place to hang out. I am of the opinion that we should be able to discuss whatever we need to, but remain cognizant (as Lorna so eloquently put it), that we are guests in someone else's house.

Sure, we all get frustrated at times, but I think as long as we remain focused on the positive as we work our way through whatever the issue is at hand, and in so doing, maintain our sensitivity to others who may not share in our ‘passion’ for a particular topic, we should all be OK. Let's also have fun along the way. As I mentioned once before, if we didn't have a sense of humour doing what we do, we'd all be very sad people.

I want to echo the comments of others and thank Gracie/Beauty for all her hard work and hope to see her back again soon. A big welcome to my fellow newbie moderators, Jadeanne and Curly and to the other gals already doing a great job. Thanks also to Sharon for all her hard work and for her patience as we all settle in to our new 'responsibilities'.

Lastly, for those of you who insist that a moderator is just another word for a "Forum Policewoman", hey, that's cool too. If I can aspire to this look (minus the <|>|<|> ), then I will wear the badge proudly.

!!!yes!!! I am honoured, also, to be given the opportunity to moderate!
(Though the world is not ready to see me in that uniform yet  )

A big hello to Stephanie W, Jadeanne CJ and Sharon...looking forward to working with you (--)

I hope to post a bit more often and get to know you all better.

I'm missing Gracie's presence here :(

Love,

Hey, I know that cop, he , 'er she gave me a speeding ticket the other day and then gave me some makeup advice!!! How cool was that??
I know you ladies will all do a good job, but let me warn you - you may have to develop some different tactics for use on Virginia - she has been taken to the wood shed so many times that - well she is starting to enjoy it!!!! - just kidding.
Anyway, I know you all will keep us on the "straight and narrow" and know you will continue to participate even from your thrones of authority!!!
Congratulations =D> =D>

About this "we are all guests in somebody's house" mantra:
If I decided to have a party in my house and nobody came because I was too stringent or had too many rules or played favorites, I would not be happy.
As I understand it, this public "house" has been constructed to help CDers of all kinds. Rules of some sort are needed, but so is love, kindness and acceptance/
Admittedly, i am anti-authoritarian, as i sense all cds must be somewhere in their souls, but can accept governance that is fair, equal and understandable.

I like this forum and intend to stay, but who knows?...If I come to a house and the proprietor says dont break furniture, I respect that; but if she says, don't breathe, can;t do that....since Freedom is breathing for me -- another thing that I think all CDers realize.
Don't want a house that keeps me on the "straight and narrow," would prefer to see the term "straight and wide."
Came here after dropping another forum that caused me to purge for a fortnight since i decided things were too "cultish." Returned to dressing and then sought another place to be. Watched this for a few weeks, then decided to join. Called myself Evangeline...As a newbie, thought I'd keep a low profile (as you can see, probably not easy for me) so i answered simple posts, like "how did u get yr name?" I cheerfully explained that as Evangeline I liked the nickname Eva and came up with a fullname, EvaGreene (evergreen a good name for a newbie and throughout life too)...I received an ascebic message informing me that i was out of line, against the rules???? something about one name.,..Well I had one name, Evangeline...I simply was going to sign things EVA....Others have nicknames here, i see/
Anyway, that was almost enuf to make me pack up once again. then I recalled one of the things that I liked about this forum was the tone of the moderator...so I left things up to her///In short, that's how i became eva..not a bad decision, even though its beginning almost deleted me from the site.
One more thing...about this taking someone to task for decisions made...None would want Bush to say "how dare you take me to task for anything publicly...whisper your dissatisfaction to me in private/////things that irk people should be discussed in public, (if handled decently on all sides)
with the decison-maker able to defend herself.
In my job, I had to say a lot about people -- and sometimes they answered me very publicly,,,,Never bothered me as I said "it comes with the territory" I also have found that once I got past a secretary, I could get decent, straight answers from the boss....I hope you new moderators will not act as dictatorial secretaries...
All for now with love,
E  who hopefully is not banned yet.

PS---THE FOLLOWING IS A JOKE. YOU CAN MOVE THIS PART TO THE BAD JOKE SECTION IF YOU WANT -- "Help, I'm being moderated by long-winded (i should talk) Canadians!"

"Unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth."Albert Einstein (most probably not CD)

Hi all,

I want to officially welcome the new additions to the team. Stephanie, Curly, Jadeanne, Donna: glad you could join us! :)

The payoff in being a mod is not financial, true. It's something much more interesting, I think: the chance to "administratively" contribute to the positive and friendly atmosphere of an online gathering place we all enjoy meeting in. Keep this in mind: it's the members themselves who give a forum--any forum--its flavour, its appeal, and its popularity. Although the administrators may well set the tone (it is their house, after all), the direction a forum takes is a collaboration between the contributing members, the moderators, and the administrators. Positive contributions by the members will take the forum in a positive direction; negative contributions will take the forum in a negative direction. It's as simple as that. Cooperation is the key.

This forum, I find, is amazingly "self-policing," in the sense that most of its members are very well attuned to the atmosphere the administrators wish to foster, and they act accordingly by contributing positively to that atmosphere. Those that don't like that atmosphere are always free to go elsewhere in search of what they want--be it controversy, pornography, whatever.

What I find eminently likeable about this forum is that, although its members come from very different social, political, and religious stances (some far removed from my own), most members seem to be able to transcend that and focus on what unites them: a desire to explore what it means to be human in the context of their own lives by sharing their experiences and by seeking and offering psychological and emotional support, not moralizing condemnations (Lord knows, we face enough of that outside the forum itself).

In the not too distant future, peace will be the Holy Grail in this world. And, though we may never find it, it's important we seek it. Why? Because surrounding peace are values that foster life and well-being. I, for one, want this place to be a place of peace. It's what first drew me here (and I believe the presence and participation of both sexes is a key to this).

Now, having said all this, I have to add that peace does not equal "sterility." I'll be the first one to admit that debate and a certain amount of racy playfulness are healthy. And fun, too. As long as they're put out there, on the forum, with respect for others and in a spirit of gentleness (not necessarily of gentility, which is something else). In real life, when people are mad, they do sometimes swear; in real life, sex is a part of people's lives and they do talk about it; in real life, people are sometimes confronted with their questionable behaviours--especially if they're the result of what they know to be bad decisions (but just remember that gadflies are a dime a dozen and there are so many more sites out there, on the web, that specialize in criticism rather than support that we are, indeed, bucking a trend here); in real life, people sometimes don't, indeed, feel well and that affects how they relate to others.

We shouldn't want to prevent people from sharing their real life issues... within limits (and those limits are made plain in the forum rules and guidelines). What's left unsaid in those guidelines and rules are the implicit guiding principles of the forum. To wit: in real life, people have a deep need to feel connected to other people; in real life, people also have a strong desire to share the joy brought about by their having overcome obstacles in their lives; in real life, people often try the wisdom of others on for size, and want to let others try their own on ("want to let" being the operative words, here, not "want to force") and they will seek out places where they can both give and receive such "experiential" wisdom in a spirit of peaceful jen (a Chinese Confucian term, pronounced "ren," meaning "human-heartedness"); in real life, people know that no issue--however trivial or capital--can fall under the purview of a "black-and-white" outlook on life, and they'll accordingly put a bit of water in their wine as needed.

We have become like a family, here (an ever-growing family, but a family nonetheless). One danger that all families face is that of "emotional entanglement." We start caring about and loving other people so much that we begin to have expectations regarding them. That they won't hurt us. That they won't judge us too harshly. That they won't unnecessarily patronize us. That they'll value what we have to say. That they will receive who we are in a spirit of generosity and compassion. That they won't abandon us. When those expectations are crushed because of the "we-have-never-met-therefore-we-are-strangers-and-thus-I-can-say-to-you-whatever-I-want-to" loophole some people use with alarming consistency, things go awry. Tempers flare. Contempt flourishes. Flaming (outright or hidden) occurs. At those times, it's best to remember that we have, indeed, met each other. Through our words and thoughts and feelings, we've come to know a little bit about each other--insofar as we're willing and able to share those words and thoughts and feelings with one other.

We are family. This is why I come here. I've often heard it expressed by others here but I don't say it enough myself: I love you. The people I've met on this forum have changed me. With very few exceptions, what I've found here gives me great hope that all is not lost for the human race.

Stephanie, Curly, Jadeanne, Donna are all great additions to the "mod squad" of this far, far from "sterile" forum. "Sterile," to me, implies death, devolution, entropy. This is definitely not the case here; this place is very much alive to the longings of the heart and soul. And that these fine individuals are willing to participate in a more "official" capacity in that aliveness is a very good sign. A very good sign, indeed.

We'll weather this "storm in a teacup," no doubt about that. In a sense, the forum has a life of its own; it's an organic thing... it lives and breathes and moves on its own. The admins merely point it in a desired direction and the mods shepherd it when it strays. And forum members will always come and go. It's the nature of the beast.

I spoke with Beauty a couple of days ago. I miss her, too. Very much so. She's such an awesome person. She's consistently held her arms out to me to raise me up whenever I fell down. She's never afraid to let me know what she thinks regarding who I am and what I'm about. I've never met her face to face but she's "realer" to me than many people I've known my entire life. But now Beauty has left the forum. She is still family--and she always will be--but she's left the house and moved out into the world in search of a home of her own. And I know that, Beauty being who she is, she will not fail to find that home. It doesn't mean she'll never come for a visit. I'm thinking, and certainly hoping, she will (and, in this heart, the fires will be kept burning). [May you fare well, my sister, my friend.] Now, we give a few additional chores to other family members even though we'll never be able to take on everything Beauty did in as quite an inimitable way as she did. But the new mods will do what they do in a style all their own and say the things they say in a voice made rich by their own personalities. That's all we can ask for and it's not just good enough for me, it's best enough for me.

Take care, all of you. Cherish each other. Cherish yourselves.

Love,
CJ

P.S.
Eva wrote: Help, I'm being moderated by long-winded Canadians!   Was that a jab in my direction? :P I may be long-winded but at least I'm not short-sighted. 8) The thing, Eva, about having to publicly defend oneself from one person who has a bone to pick with us is that it plays into a frame of mind where you (as the defendant) will have to start thinking that it's possible to please everyone. Well, it isn't. Some people will be pissed (and some people will always be pissed all of the time); there's no helping that. The comparison to Mr. Bush's situation doesn't hold up; Mr. Bush was chosen by people and people have a right to demand he justify his actions publicly. Forum moderators are appointed and they're accountable to the admins, not to the members. We listen (often with long-winded empathy) to the suggestions, demands, and requirements of the members and we do all we can to take their needs and wishes into account within the guidelines set before us; having members undermine our authority (for whatever reason) by questioning our judgment without valid reason, merely as a matter of principle, only makes our task that much more unpleasant. Although it may be true that "unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth," I think it's also true that thoughtful respect for authority can be truth's greatest ally.

I'm sorry you had a bumpy ride coming in here, Eva (and yes, you can consider this a public apology) but I'm hoping that snag won't prevent you from enjoying your time here and from contributing positively to the forum's atmosphere. Be well, my friend. 8)

"National Crossdressers Association" ???

Post by Marda »

Hi,
Humble suggestion ...
- How about moving this thread, or at least the 'geo-political' postings, "joke", 'good, bad or indifferent' to the "Hot Topics" section where I more or less expect to be assaulted by someone else's (in)outlook's as they surface ???

I'm sensing symptoms of friction - sooner than expected after my return 'home" - in which case I offer it may be understandable why members under various international flags are excusing themselves from the 'kitchen table' ...

"Family business" is one thing ...
"Baiting", & "Feuding" are quite different 'realities';
*especially* in cyberspace ...

... or, is this all according to 'girls will be  ???'

:-k

I would agree that throwing a party and then enforcing a bunch of restrictive rules on what you can and cannot do might scare off a number of potential invitees. However, I don't think a forum like would be considered a one-night event where rules might be bent or broken at will for the sake of a good time. Here, we all share the same space and for most of us who choose to hang out in this community, it's often for a considerably longer term than just one night. So metaphorically speaking, it just means that we have to respect the (yes) fair and equitable rules of the house, if only to make sure we don't go around slamming doors while others are sleeping, so to speak.

As far as the "love, kindness and acceptance", no worries there. You only have to check out the rest of the 'house' to see all those things in just about every room. (--) :kisscheek: *;*;*
I like this forum and intend to stay, but who knows?...If I come to a house and the proprietor says dont break furniture, I respect that; but if she says, don't breathe, can;t do that....since Freedom is breathing for me -- another thing that I think all CDers realize.
Perhaps the discussion of what constitutes freedom might be better suited to the HT section as that means different things to different people, but as a proud resident of the free world, I certainly don't feel restricted at all in how I live my life. Even so, I still wouldn't want to live in today's world without the rules of law and order. Whatever you do though, don't stop breathing. :)

Oh and regarding the 'dictatorial secretary' thang, you needn't worry about that. This gal knows her way around a set of cuffs and the power of her stilettos on someone's butt, _P so you might acyually find the secretary a preferable alternative. :haha:  BTW, no apologies for being Canadian either...too proud for that! ..^..

forum direction?

Post by Sally »

I just wanted to set the record straight as to why I ceased some time ago posting on this forum.

It certainly wasn't because I wanted to talk about subjects such as explicit sex, cause any angry debate, or to use any hostile language in any form whatsoever. It's against my nature and ethics to do so. I've posted a large number of articles on here and I believe nobody could ever accuse me of ever being hostile towards anybody, and I believe I've never gone into any sexual detail or broached any subjects which I feel are taboo or could arouse anger in anyone. I hold the greatest respect for women and in no way would ever intentionally offend a woman or anyone else. I've never became entwined in any offensive topics and it's not my nature to do so, and even in real life I steer away from offending anyone.

I also believe that it was an excellent idea to restrict the reading of the SO section to women only, to me it was essential.

Having said all this, I also believe in free speech within reason and I strongly believe that a section such as Hot Topics shouldn't be a haven for hiding away discussions and debate which may be of value to the general public, who come to this forum to read without becoming a member. I would have thought that the section regarding Non CD Topics is the place where such subjects are discussed and debated openly, and if there was any postings which were out of order then it's easy enough for them to be deleted by the moderators.

I quite realise that I could easily be admitted to the Hot Topic area and indeed Gracie has over time previously asked me more than once if I wished to do so, but I've always refused on the grounds that I believe it's undemocratic, too selective and restrictive in the society we live in today. I've also had postings relegated to Hot Topics and I couldn't see any reason whatsoever why, or why I should spend time putting together a psoting only to have to shut away. I discussed this with Gracie in private several times and I still believe the reasons why are not relevant to why or the subjects being discussed. I believe one can become too trigger happy in striving for good governance and there are topics which I've mentioned in the past e.g pedophilia, religious themes etc which were relegated to HT, which I believed should have been open to the general public to read as they contained nothing offensive in language content or any other content, and indeed were relevant to the CD , TG community, and to me they were topics of great interest to everyone anywhere in the world as they touch our lives on a daily basis.

Having said all this, as I've said before, I hold no hard feelings against anyone and I've discussed it in depth over the last few days privately with Gracie, and we've agreed to disagree on some things, whilst remaining close friends, and we've held each other in the highest esteem for a long, long time and will continue to do so. I also respect the right of the admins to conduct this or any other forum as they wish, and I really don't need anyone to tell me that if I don't like it I can leave. I think we're all adult enough to realise that and make our own minds up, but I do feel that in this day and age there is way too much restriction being placed on peoples right to free speech (within reason) all around the world. My intention here or anywhere else has always been to try and encourage good healthy discussion and debate, and give input on my experience in the TG community and I hope that in some small way, something of benefit was gleaned by at least one person from what I've written here over the previous 22 months. I've made some very good friends in my time here and I hope we continue as such. I wish everyone well.

My kindest regards to all,

Sally.

Hi all,

Had Sally not posted here it is unlikely I would have made any further comment here.
As you all know I am some what more of an in your face kind of a poster than Sally.... So here goes.

I just finished responding to a forum member (Good friend) who contacted me about this situation. Following is an edited copy of my response.

Thank you for your concern. Yes I am well, and yes I have left the forum unlikely to return any time soon if at all.

The reasons I have left is due to the fact that : The Hot Topics area is set up (and used) to restrict the natural flow of conversation. (in certain situations.)That serves to impede personal growth.

Sally is right the place is to sanitized and restrictive. It is not enough for them to let us all talk about anything we want to and delete the posts that flame etc. and/or ban the poster responsible for such activity if that becomes necessary.

They are treating it like certain topics are taboo that are part of life. And by placing them in The hot topics section where they can not be viewed by all, is like saying we need to rid these things from society.

At it's best it sends a message (or a signal) that if we simply avoid these topics all will be well. It does nothing to encourage people to communicate in a civilized manner.

And when confronted they simply take the "my way or the highway approach" as opposed to opening it up for discussion. Not at all a healthy situation. I am unable to support that kind of an approach. And I can do without that kind of love and support. Thank you very much.

I also place no restrictions on you with this information. Please feel free to share it in what ever way you choose. End of copy.

I will add that while I saw some of this before, Sally saw all of this before I did, and I now echo everything she has said in her last post. I also wish everyone well, and bear no one any ill intent.

PS. If need be I may respond to any response to this post, but still perfer to lurk only.

Respectfully,
Loretta Ann.

Hi Sally,

Tnx for expanding, and consequently 'allowing' me the opportunity to extract a few points for my own 'pondering' in 'public view' - my food for thought ...
=======

As clear as your message is (normally)
[productive, respectful, valuable, 'untangled']

I'm not sure I have a 'worthy' reply
[concise, comprehensive - that lives up to/honours the integrity/richness of your statement(s) = Quality Comments Invite Quality Consideration & Responses]

However, you have triggered the recollection of a recent and increasingly common event in my neighbourhood; which for decades, until only a year ago, was considered to be quite safe and friendly ...

- witness a young, attractive, and athletic female (thief/)prostitute doing a well strategized grab'n-run purse snatching on an old woman alone on the sidewalk in broad daylight and plain view late one calm, sunny afternoon

- the general situation is that a neighbouring 'down & dirty' sub-community, historically known as the 'lightbulb' for the 'moths', has recently undergone a major, BIG$$$ redevelopment = "the moths have lost their traditional lightbulb and been forced into open fluttering"

- while the topic is openly avoided, this is neither unexpected nor unknown to the local 'government'

- the recent local election focused on the "Increase in Crime" and the underlying campaign arguments raised the "political" issues of 'law enforcement budget shortages and manipulations'

- meanwhile the parties and powers all sit comfortably at the table of governance with selectively plugged ears, blinded eyes, and crossed arms with index fingers quite naturally pointed toward the "honourable member(s) next"

In simple and summary terms, the BIG$$$ developers, in accordance with history, have routinely and ever more skillfully redirected the attention of the public authorities ... everyone accepts that it's easier to be reelected to public office on the popularity of visible and visual efforts to glamorize the smooth and thriving surface image of the community, than on dealing with the dirty, less visible realities of the community's troubled, blistered and evermore-festering underbelly ...

It's not so different from the mall security model I saw applied when I managed retail environments in major "shoplifting" centres = mall management unofficially objects to a visible and effective
*Security*
presence because that signals to the community that the mall is an unsafe place to be - and that would be
*Bad For Business* #-o ...
=======

In the context of your reply and this forum ...

I also "... believe in free speech within reason and I strongly believe that a section such as Hot Topics shouldn't be a haven for hiding away discussions and debate which may be of value to the general public ..."

Suggestion: perhaps there's a 'Different & More Open' way of "Identifying & Assigning/Qualifying Access" (Read Only / Read-Write) to a Forum section where readily identifiable or commonly known 'Hot Topics' (ie. religion, politics) are to be expected ...

- and perhaps we're not so far from this; which can be done simply enough

In the context of the unfortunate old lady above ...

Perhaps our city council would open the public discussion "Dirty Business" to plain view - that in the "Interests of Economic Development", we've "uprooted / displaced the legendary crime / (anti)social elements in neighbourhood #SE276" and until further notice, all community members in neighbourhoods #SWxxx, #NWxxx and #NExxx are advised to warn their women (& m>fCrossdressers) about ie. increased reports or expectations of "successful purse grab'n-runs"

- ForeWarned is ForeArmed

- then, my neighbours and I can openly and rationally reassess if we wish to stay or move / fight or flight

- if we decide to stay and fight, then we may be entitled to more open and direct engagement with the governing parties; but we should expect to learn and live up to rules, responsibilities and accountabilities of engagement
=======

I respect your view "[... I discussed this with Gracie in private several times ... I believe one can become too trigger happy in striving for good governance ... topics of great interest to everyone anywhere in the world as they touch our lives on a daily basis.]"

In the context of the unfortunate old lady above ...

Perhaps our city officials would look even better at reelection time if they were perceived to be less cozy with BIG$$$ developers and more open / direct and less "politically correct" about the realities of modern urban and social development issues

Perhaps the BIG$$$ folks would benefit in unexpected and equally profitale ways by negotiating more relevant and innovative structures for altering the visible and invisible characteristics / attributes of developing communities ie. including more 'active' and realistic 'sponsored safehouse / dropin locations' for 'unfortunates' in their business and property development ("displacement") plans
=======

I realize that all of this (my mental meanderings) may seem a 'stretch' for members and guests, perhaps my point can be summarized

- our *Forum Direction* discussion may not be so different from my neighbourhood's Urban & Social Development discussion

- here at our Crossdressers-Forum, we *Crossdressers* all seem to admit in some way that we feel *Vulnerable* in the 'outer' world because of our 'special' and usually 'secret' feelings / interests

- we all find some value in having a "safe", albeit "structured" environment ("haven") where we can gather, play out *our* human realities, and at least 'maintain' if not 'grow'

- it seems reasonable to assume that we feel our environment to be "safe" very much because of the planned and managed "structure"

- as with human matters and creations, the dynamic of our continuously expanding and unfolding "structure" requires continuous observation, assessment and adjustments as we proceed

- perhaps we're not so far from determining and applying a few 'adjustments'; a finer-tuning toward becoming one of the more productive, valuable, and respectable models of an online resource for "structurally vulnerable" people

- perhaps here at *Crossdressers-Forum*, because of how and who *we* Crossdressers are (and are not), we're closer than we think or imagined to actually helping the 'outer' world become a more 'people friendly' environment
=======

Maybe, as girls pain in becoming women, our present feelings and observations signal the continuously refreshing view of our forum's growth - our direction and destination

A particular hope at this time, is that Gracie / (Beauty), in the line of duty, and after such solid, steady and significant contributions to the 'flight and safety of this ship' has not been 'burned, bent or broken' by the effects of 'atmospheric' turbulence

Thanks Marda, you haven’t lost your touch in confusing me, nice to see you again.

Loretta, I am not attacking you in this post, in a way I kinda agree with you.

I am on a couple of CD forums and all are similar in their ways of operating, so when I say CD forums I am refering to all three that I am on, because they are basically the same.

These CD forums are run the way the owner and moderators want them to run. Loretta, you say that there are subjects that are needed for Cds to discuss on the open part of the forum. I agree. But there are subjects that I would have liked to discuss on the open CD forum but they will never see the light of day. Most of the Cds on these forums are sort of on the white, suburban, a bit conservative side of life. I am not. I lived most of my early life in Hell’s Kitchen, right next to seedy Times Square. I have lived a life where sex is a main part of being a CD. I would like to have had the chance to talk to others like myself, who lived their lives the same as me, but it is very hard to talk about the seediness of having sex in a peep-show when the forum members and moderators look down at talk about sex. It is also difficult to talk about having sex with a man in a movie theater without it sounding X-rated, there is no way to make this sound clean. Especially on these CD forums, where even the mention of the word gay can bring disgust to some Cds. OK, there might not be many Cds like myself out there, but if this subject(sex) can’t be talked about or is hidden from lurkers view, then the ones that are out there will just by pass this forum. And I feel that sex and S&M are major parts of my CD life and probably are to other Cds.

I have heard from members on this and other CD forums ( Loretta, maybe even you might have said this), that there are plenty of other sites out there if one wants the sex talk to Cding. Well, I have asked where are these other forums, I asked if there are any CD forums that members can talk to each other about these kinds of subjects, well, no one told me about any forums like this, even though they say there are many of them out there.

I am not asking this forum to change the forum is run the way the owner wants them to run, I know what these forums are about. They are basically for new Cds, that need help. Which is a good thing, but when you have been dressing since 1976, it gets kinda boring when someone wants help buying lipstick or pantyhose. Maybe it’s me, but it doesn’t seem like a great subject when one makes a thread, I just bought my first wig, it’s fine for this person and this forum is helpful to this person , but it’s bloody boring to me. And this is mainly what the forum is for, helping these types of people, again, which is fine and this is what these forums are mostly about. That is why I come and go, I post where I feel something is interesting, but I don’t make these forums my life. Although I will say that Gracie has helped me see things clearer, her words have helped me to understand what I should have already known, sort of like a slap in the face.

I know some will say that offensive language has no place in this forum, again, this is fine, this is the way the people here want the forum to be, but let’s be real. Most of the members are old, most are older than me. They must have heard all these kinds of words already in their lives and if not, then you must really be deep in the closet. If you go to some teen web sites or go to the movies you will see this kind of language. I mean, we aren’t school girl virgins, bad language is nothing to be afraid of. This is just my opinion, I am not asking the forum to change, I can either post or not post according to the forum rules.

Once again, these forums are fine, for the people that want this type of forum. So Loretta, just the same as people have told me, I will repeat their words. If you want to discuss things that are not liked by the mods or other members then you have to find other forums that will allow your subjects to be discussed. I have heard this many times from Cds on these forums, I am just repeating what they have said to me.

So, Loretta, there are subjects that you feel should be discussed here, and there are subjects that I feel should be discussed here, it’s up to the owner if they are to be allowed.

Okay gals,

I strongly advise that if you do not like this forum, you have every right to leave rather than spoiling the experience for those who are open to being enriched by coming here. Aggressive "in-your-faceness" to no constructive end is the common tool of trolls. If you want to criticize, fine. But do so constructively. Contribute positively to the forum or don't contribute at all. I'm open to suggestions from any and all members but this heedless forum-bashing will stop. Is this clear enough?

See, Amélie's post is a fine example of what I mean by being constructive. She's put things in perspective for those of you still having trouble understanding what this forum is about and has made some suggestions in the light of her own experience rather than throwing the baby out with the bath water. She recognized the value of this forum even though it's not exactly suited to her own tastes. This is what I mean by a positive contribution. Thanks, Amélie.
