Sadly at 1205 pm today .about 1/1/2 hours ago now we had to put our cat to sleep ,and dam it i cant stop crying .i didnt know i could feel this deeply about a pet .i cried less when my dad died. he was a cat my wife brought home from a vegetable farm were she worked ,the farmer would shoot at him and send dogs after him and ever after all that when my wife pulled up in her car he would come running from his hiding place to greet her .we guessed he was about 2 years old ,in April 1st 2000 she brought him home ,he was so afraid, it took more that 2weeks before he would come out from our bedroom to explore the house.he was a big cat, very long.and he weighed just over 7kg he had long fur he was a bit like a shark with his markings all black on top with a white underbelly and socks. his sickness just seemed to come out of the blue,to start with he was well muceled and fit and within 2weeks hed stoped eating he'd just lick a bit of juce from his food, and turned to skin and bone he was down to 5kg in the end,but because of all his fur ,when he was sleeping he looked fine .he was sleeping 23 hours a day though. poor guy didnt have the strength to get of the coutch without falling over. sorry the only thing i seem to bring to this site is my pain, I hpoe one day i will grow past that and give back the support you guys give .love from ian.

The first major loss I experienced was a cat, and I surprised at the feelings it brought out of me. It hurt so badly, and I had to say that to people that I wasn't getting along with at the time. Very hard. I'm sorry for your loss; it will take a while to sort it out, but it has to be done. I wish you well in the process.

Ian I'm sorry about your cat. I love cats, they are wonderful animals. I cried more when I had to put my cat to sleep than when my parents died, although I would never confuse a cat with a human being. Don't quite know why that was, maybe because I had to make the decision to have my cat killed whereas I did not have that sort of decision to make with my parents.

Sorry to hear about your cat Ian. I've had a few babies pass away an it was one of the worse feelings in the world. I look at my cats and dogs as my children and would be crushed if anything would happen to them.

Hugs,
Sharon(SO)
