Hi Ladies
I love to go grocery shopping. My beloved Price Chopper pulled out of Waterbury two months ago and ShopRite just opened a store at the same location this past sunday. I picked up my daughter Katie and went to check it out. It was truly a memorable event.
I must of missed the anouncement on the news that a thermo nuclear war was starting on monday and to stock up on supplies. I now have an idea of what an invasion of the Mongols and Ghengas Khan must of looked like.
There were specials like fresh corn. 12 for $1.50. It looked like a picture on the news when aid workers throw a bag of rice off a truck in a third world country and there's a free for all. They were ripping them open and throwing them back if they didn't look right. The poor worker came out with more crates of corn and they were grabbing them out of the crates before he could put them out.
The specials in the meat department were a special treat. I almost lost a hand reaching for a pork loin. It was like Raptors feeding time. Answer me one questions ladies. How freakin' long do you have to stare at a piece of meat before you buy it? Does it give you sign?
The soda, chips and candy aisles had to made one way so the parents and their kids could fit between the shelves.
Check out was even more fun . You get hear cell phone conversations of spouces fighting or asking where the Preparation H is. By the time we left Katie was having a panic attack so I made her breath into a paper bag.
This one you won't believe. The lady in front of me at the checkout had a cart packed to the max and in the middle there was little head sticking out and smiling. It was her daughter! I could't help myself.
I said" I have the flyer and you can use my half off coupon on kids. I already have a daughter." She was not amused but then again she had a "Bush in 08" bumper sticker on her cart. I should of known better.
Have a fabulous weekend ladies. Hugs.
Love
