Humans have many belief systems and that's fine. I was raised Catholic and always had doubts about all the stories I heard. I stopped going to church but at least I still always feel quilty. There really is no reason to attend church and be good. On my death bed I'll confess to a priest and i'm in! It's just like the United States government. You are rewarded for bad behavior. Sweet!
Almost all religions are based on miracles and men "talking with God" and writing all the Holy books. Why is it that all the miracles only happened thousands of years ago?

Not to be outdone, Jesus was sitting on a hillside and pulls enough bread and fish out his basket to feed 5000 people. I wish I had that basket!
Oh! Silly me! There is one religion that got a start in the early 1800s with a pretty good miracle. It was Joseph Smith Jr., a farmer in Vermont who started the Mormon faith in 1830. In 1827 he said some angels showed him golden plates describing a visit from Jesus. That blew Adam and Eve and the talking snake right out of the water. It is just me girls? Hugs.

One of those ten commandments states"thou shall not kill".I have read the bible even though I am not religous.What bothers me most is that God does a lot of killing in there or it is done in his name.Do as we say ,not as we do.Sounds like a politician to me.

I just find the stories of all religions funny. I mean no disrespect. If you really think about them they make no sense.

On a lighter note,you have some gorgeous stems Babycakes. Hubba hubba! I have to go out and shovel the front sidewalk again. The city snowplow buries it every half hour. It's 6 degrees with a wind chill of 0.

In the bible according to Mel Brooks, there were 15 commandments.....Moses kinda dropped the last tablet and it shattered. Rumor has it the 15th commandment said "Awww, I was just being silly girls, disregard the earlier stuff, just be nice, enjoy what I gave you and don't hurt anything". Ok, so I'm a lapsed Catholic also and feel real guity about posting this (waiting for a nun to burst through the door with the "Knuckle ruler" now). So, take care, stay outta church 'cause the roof might fall down, and keep posting "life according to Jeannie".

I try to follow the commandment of do unto others as I would have them do unto me. Worst case is I live a moral life and when I die I'm gone. I'm not convinced that if any of the aspects of God described in any of the organized religions came to Earth that they would be pleased with any of the religions.

Being from Waterbury when you mentioned the Apostle's I immediately thought you were referring to the Apostles M.C. Although they haven't been around in quite a while.

I don't have that much of a problem with religion, not nearly as much as I used to. I look at it this way, if believing in a higher power makes you a better person, more power to you. Put the better person you are because of it to good use and help others and all that jazz. I'm not that fussed over the little details, ceremonies and other stuff of a religion I don't want a part of, but if there's fine print you're overlooking, then I'm probably not paying attention to it either. It's not my place to tell someone they're wrong for believing any more than it's their place to tell me I'm wrong for not believing. Live and let live, I think it's called.

What I really have a problem with is wacko extremist nutjobs that use/hide behind religion to spread hate, intolerance, bigotry, fear & racism. The same ones that bomb abortion clinics, protest at dead soldiers' funerals, hijack planes, kill, maim, disfigure and thousands of other things like that, under the banner of "(insert deity of your choice here) said for me to hate/kill/hurt you because you're wrong and I'm right!"

Of course, with most of them, the door-to-door types, all you usually need to do is answer the door in drag...I haven't seen a Jehovah's Witness on my doorstep in close to a decade thanks to Michelle inviting them in for tea. They must all talk to one another.
