Wow.

Could this proclamation have seen the light of day even two years ago? I don't think so. Slowly, we are leaving the Dark Ages behind us.
To Barack Obama:
I don't generally wave flags, but this proclamation merits it. So:
Love,

On paper it looks good BUT!, how long before I can walk down the street passable or not and still be free of hate.

And just think, usually the term transgender isn't uttered by politicians.

Hi girls,
This is a highly significant moment in history. The President of the United States has recognized our right to exist, free from prejudice and discrimination. This is the emancipation proclamation of our civil rights struggle. No, it will not change overnight, but it is no longer legitimate to say we don't have a right to be treated as equal citizens.
Love always,
Elizabeth
