That is truly hideous and evil. I just don't understand how anyone could do such a thing. I really hope they catch the perps and lock them away for a very long time.

Merinda,
That is a totally terrible thing to do to an innocent animal. Dogs are resilient though, and hopefully will find a good home after he recovers. Some people are just plain sick and its been documented that animal abuse can lead to "people" abuse. We recently had our "sicko" cat killer down here.....it made national news. Fortunatly a suspect was arrested, claiming innocence with a grin, but the killings have stopped. Read here http://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/local/ ... 2198.story
Its sad and I hope these people get more than a slap on the wrist!
Hugs

I'm not an animal/pet person by any stretch of the means, but there's just something deeply wrong with someone, to do that to a defenseless animal.

Once the dog is fit enough , it will be adopted out to a good family and I'm sure there will be many loving families lining up.

The sicko who did this needs to be caught , anyone who is capable of such an evil act towards an animal would also be capable of doing this to a human.

Not a good sign Hon.

Hi ladies
Serial killers always start out with torturing and killing animals and move up the food chain to humans. If a person can do this to a defenseless animal, they need to be put down before they do more damage.

A 32 year old man has now been arrested =D> , now lets prey the courts don't just give him a slap on the wrist.

The Lort Smith animal shelter has been bombarded with thousands of phone calls from people wishing to -

- adopt the pup when it becomes available in mid August
- pay (donate) the vet fee
- pay for the pups upkeep
- donate to the reward

Many calls were from grown men in tears .

I must have missed this post... This is really upsetting to me since I'm a real animal lover (4 dogs and 4 cats). They are part of the family and are treated as such... I hope that someday soon there would be more severe punishment for people who are cruel to these beautiful, innocent creatures... I hope this idiot gets the worst possible punishment coming to him...Cut off some of his appendages and see how he feels...

Sorry, I get really upset when I read things like this...

In the past I raised animals for sale, but abuse was not allowed eeven when loading a stubborn hog.

The story made me sick. I hope the guy gets the max.

That is just so wrong. That is plain torture, and to such a young pup. I am a dog lover and this is just beyond belief. I'm glad they seem to have caught the perp. I only hope that there is no mercy given.

The last I heard , the culprit was committed to a mental institution.

Good. Justice prevails.

Here in Kansas, a group called "PAWS" lobbied for, and got, a state law with harsh penalties for animal abuse, after animals were intentionally doused in accelerant and set on fire about five years ago.

Even so, on my birthday, 17 months ago, our gentle loving cat wandered away, never to return. About a month later, there was news of cat killings with bizarre surgical dismemberment only a few blocks from home.

Very depressing - all of it.

Hugs,

Bernice
