Hi Y'all,

I was on dial and my computer would time out before connecting to anything. I finally gave up and got DSL. Life is so much better!

I'm the first one on this thread who's still on dialup.

I have high speed access at work, but careful about which websites I visit that aren't computer work related.

I'm friendly with my next door neighbors who have DSL - I've rebuilt and repaired computers for them, so if I need a download, I just schedule a time and bring my own CDRs.

After I retire in a few more years, I will more seriously consider cable/dsl web access.

These are just my views - with my dialup I usually connect at worst 49333 bps, mostly 5200 or 53333 - about as good as dialup gets.

I guess I`m still in the computer stone age because I`m on dial up. It`s a pain sometimes, but it works ..^..
