POISONED PEOPLE versus ADMINISTRATORS

I spent last week enrolled on a competing TV/TS Forum after being invited by one of their members. Sadly I decided that "being subjected" to the poison pen letter which I received in less than 8 hours at that forum, devalued the forum to worse than useless.
I have sometimes railed against the decision or censorship of the administrators here, but after being subjected to a poisoned name calling session by one "nameless" sick minded Australian member, I fully appreciate their full worth.
This Forum is for me a great help in accepting, understanding and corresponding with persons who share our way of life. Its not a platform on which to "flame" someone who does not conform with your point of view.

Personally, I enjoy a good flamewar now and again, but this place is one of the few places on the interwebs where I've truly found levelheaded folks, who are willing to help & support one another, offer friendship and generally be some of the best folks out there without being the types that feel they need to look/talk down on people to make themselves feel better.

Hi, Kerri -
Sorry to hear about your experience, but glad to know you're still here with us!
That 'poisoned, competing site' . . . well, I was once a member there for about 1 day (shortly after joining here) and I knew then that was not the site for me. Sadly, that 'poison' is what happens when the Admins and Mods don't enforce their rules, and it's the fault of their members, too, for putting up with that situation.

I've also been to other sites and sometimes the "flaming" and all can be too much. We (or at least me) just want to chat, read and post without being constantly on-guard! For years I've said this is the best site I've found...and so very happy to be here. Which brings me to my next point...ummmm, gee SL....my endorsement check hasn't arrived yet, but maybe the dog ate it.
Hugs all

I sent it to you quite some time ago, hon . . . our 'kids' said they would make sure you got it before they started their snowbird gala in the Keys.
The gold finches said they would take it south to you, and the hummingbirds said they could get it there faster. The last I saw of them in the fall, they were flying south with your check in their bills; it took 4 hummers to carry it, the finches were the bodyguards. The check was cashed in Key Largo, I wouldn't be surprised if those sneaky kids had a grand ole' time this past winter!

They've yet to return, well, only a couple of finch and hummers are here . . . the rest must be taking their sweet time, staying in the warmer climes a bit longer. Don't blame them, actually, it's supposed to get down to 35F tonight in the valley, so we'll probably get down to 32F overnight on the mountain.
I'll have Virginia interrogate them when they finally decide to return!
((Hugs))

Oh! What's this? Oooohhh! A pretty hummingbird! But wait! What's that it's holding in its bill? A check for US$350!!! Hmm... let's see... postmarked Roanoke, VA, Dec. 20th 2009. Okay, who's it made out to? "Pay to the most faithful and endorsementful member of The Crossdressers Forum." Endorsementful? Hey, that would be me! Ummm, no, wait... maybe it's DeeDee down in Effelay. Oh well. Finders keepers. Victoria's Secret, here I come.
Sorry, folks... a little too much time on my hands this morning.
Love,
CJ

Bribery and corruption, stretching to the upper echelon of this fine institution?
There MUST be a congressional inquiry. Megadollars in public tax money MUST be spent! Someone WILL be held accountable!

Hey Kerri,
I'm sorry to hear you were subjected to trash-talk and all the flaming.
SL's right, though. "If you don't enforce the rules..."

It's a shame people can't simply agree to disagree.

Flaming? *sigh* Like we don't have enough problems that we have to make more? I just consider the source of such stuff and just don't play. I have better ways to waste my time.
As for Michelle enjoying a good flame war now and then? I can understand that as long as it really doesn't mean anything to me. I stir pots now and then just for fun and fan a flame now and then for the same reason. BUT again, just for fun. It's like poking a bigot with a stick.

I dunno, I guess I've always been a bit of an outspoken confrontationist. It's certainly no defense or excuse for some of the things I've said & done over the years, but I won't make excuses for my opinions & beliefs either. I'd like to think I'm a fairly rational person, but I'm not going to sugar coat something to keep from hurting someone's 'delicate sensibilities'. As gran'dad said, "If they need to hear it, let em' hear it."

I can perhaps see why a genuinely hateful person would or should be flamed. However, sending a hateful letter to a near total stranger after only 8 hours, I can only think that the author of such a poisoned letter must be hopelessly judgmental, and not worth the $1.38 worth of chemicals of which the average human body consists.
I've made it a personal goal to avoid being judgmental - ever. In part, I'll credit the awesome leadership exemplified on this forum.
Hugs,
Bernice

Hi Kerri-
Nice to hear from you again, and sorry that the news couldn't be better.
