Black Friday Shopping.

Well it's that crazy time again when shoppers go crazy for a bargain...Black Friday!

So how many of my US girlfriends are brave enough to venture out? I for one am a complete wimp and will be staying home during this insanity. When I worked for a hardware store we had a BF sale and grown men, big burly contractors were behaving like small children tossing stuff into their carts with this insane glint in their eyes.

After watching it from the safety of the other side of the counter I vowed never to be a part of it. My wife agrees, apparently it was worse when she worked for Sax Fifth Avenue. Grown woman fighting over a collectible doll.

Stay safe out there ladies.

Love CL.

I try to avoid BF, unlike my wife. I'll probably work that day anyway.

I'm going to Avenue to pick up some jeans for Ro and maybe a bobble for me. They have a free digital camera if you can find $50 of stuff you want. I have no idea how good or bad the camera is, but for free and a chance to shop, well I'm not passing it up. BTW, I'll be drab, but eh store knows both of me so I can shop for anything I want -- like not knowing me would scare me into not shopping :)

It's a great day to spend time with my wife who is not much of a shopper, so I never venture out on Black Friday. I'm not sure I would in any case as I'm not inclined to fight crowds just to get a chance at a "good deal" on something I wasn't inclined to buy the day before.

... but I do like getting out during the holiday shopping season. I enjoy the decorations and the crowds when it's toned down just a little bit, and I enjoy the give-and-take of shopping for others as well as myself. I'm looking forward to the semi-traditional mall tour in the last few days leading up to Christmas. I may also need to make a dedicated trip to find the perfect holiday outfit for a company party on the 17th. There's so much festive red and black or gold and black out there now, and it's awfully tempting!
