Had to see my Father and Mother in law last night,I left something there I forgot on Sunday,my favorite winter hat and I got it back.I do get along with them great and they had me sit down. They said I am a great son in law. They admit I am the first man that has treated my wife/their daughter Kelly Ann very well. She dated men that treated her like crap before she met me.The first time I met them 8 years ago,I impressed them when my wife and I started dating.I looked at them and said this: I am no coward and always will treat your daughter right. My wife has a better life because of me and knows I will never harm her in a bad way.

When I was in high school and college I was dating a girl who lived about 45 miles from my home along with several other girls.

By the end of my freshman year in college I was sure that we would get married, but I was not ready to commit. That summer I heard that we were engaged and I ran like a scared rabbit.

Twenty five years later we had several conversations. It came out that the summer I heard that I was engaged I was working with the Mother of one of her girlfriends. She had commented to the girlfriend that she wanted to marry me and by the time it got back to me, we were getting married.

Also in the conversation she told me that I was the only guy that she had dated that her folks approved of. I told her that I appreciated the compliment, but I felt they didn't know me very good. (I am sure I would not have been approved of if they had know about the CD)

After my present wife and I decided to get married, I told her I was going to ask her folks's permission even though it was going to be her 3rd marriage, She agreed. When I did you could hear their jaws hit the floor. Not one of her pervious husbands had approached them. Needless to say I was their favorite SIL.
