New York

We just returned last Sunday from 3 days in NYC (my home town)

This was all arranged by Paula (my SO) as a significant birthday celebration, and it was a memorable experience.
It began with a comfortable JetBlue flight to JFK and a limo to the Sheraton on 53rd & 7th.
Day one - we met with Paula's cousin for drinks at the Player's Club, and dinner at a real Chinese place.
Day two - Afternoon at the Neue Galerie: lunch at Cafe Sabarisky, and then the exhibition of Klimt paintings. Dinner at the Russian Tea Room. Then a hilarious revival of "Anything Goes".
A wild pedi-cab ride from the theater (43rd) to hotel (53rd). Expensive but fun - it was, I admit, a white-knuckle experience weaving through after-theater traffic on 6th ave. A true tourist NYC deed.
Day Three - Lunch at the Stage Deli -magnificent pastrami ! Then to MOMA for an exhibit of Diego Rivera murals. Dinner at the Arpeggio Restaurant in Lincoln Center. An absolutely fantastic acoustic experience: N.Y. Philharmonic doing Tchaikowsky's No. 5. Also an early Mozart piano concerto by Garrick Ohlsson.
Day Four - breakfast at Lindy's; limo to JFK; uneventful JetBlue home.
Considering our age and limitations on walking, I think we did quite well.
All in drab :( - mainly because of baggage limitations.

Hugs,
Lydia

I liked reading about it; sounds like a nice time was had by all. The part in the quote appealed to me! Also, it would be nice to fly again--it's been five years since I did that.

Hi Lydia,
I'm glad you had such a great time! I've never really been to NYC. I've been through it a couple times but that doesn't qualify. One of these days, I'd like to go and spend a week. It sounds really cool.

Enjoy your travels.
Hugs,
Kyra
