We seemed to have burned through the months supply ahead of time waaah. So now im thinking, can i be bothered to go and get more?, or shoud i just give up?. Im not very good at giving up things tho, and of late im dealing with a no sugar and low carb diet which is bad enough, bouncing bloodsugars play havoc with the moodswings. Not to mention im pretty hormonal, emotional and suffer bouts of dysmorphia and dysphoria. Im not so sure if giving up at this time is such a good idea?. I know theres never a good time not to quit smoking, but can the world around me really afford to play host to a crazed, hormonal, mentally unstable TG whos missing the nicotine?
This was leading somewhere.... oh yeah, all this made me wonder, does smoking stunt growth? (or put another way, will my girls grow even more if i quit? ) the HRT meds say i shouldnt smoke, but they dont mention how it affects growth).

No idea. And really this is not going to be of any use to you, but still..
My brother came back from America and I was certain he's grown. Like I hadn't seen him for a few years and he had certainly put on some weight physically (He continues to do so and it's not good). But I thought he'd somehow put on weight mentally with the series of responsible jobs. But what bugged me was I was almost sure he was taller.
Like I had always been 5ft 6in, so had my sister - and he had always been 5ft 5.5in, which between brothers is kind of important. So we measured him - and he was 5ft 7in. He was in his early 40s at this point, so nobody ever believes me when I tell them this story.

ahh i beleive it myself. i lived there for a few years and the diet was plentiful, a lot more red meat, injected with hormones etc. GM food is out of control too, so they all towered over me haha
when i came back, i lost nearly three inches in height. the doctor is scratching his head and it may be the hrt or diabetes, but it could be diet too?

Xiao-Chuan Liu, a professor of chemistry at the California State Polytechnic University, presented results from his study of blood samples from smokers at the American Chemical Society national meeting and exposition. He found that nicotine, when added to human blood samples, raised levels of hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) by as much as 34%. Liu expects a similar effect occurs with diabetic smokers, whom he hopes to test in a follow up study.
One thing the above links don't address is the liver. One general disturbance caused by cigarette smoke is that it decreases the capacity of the red blood cells to carry oxygen to the vital organs of the body, including the liver.
When you have an oversupply of glucose, your body stores the excess in the liver and muscles by making glycogen, long chains of glucose. When glucose is in short supply, your body mobilizes glucose from stored glycogen and/or stimulates you to eat food. The key is to maintain a constant blood-glucose level.
It's important that your liver is properly functioning, and smoking can affect it.

hmm, tough question. I stopped smoking because I wanted to keep my youthful looks. it's especially important for us CDs I think, as our skin tends to age quicker than GGs. but it's never easy. if you don't feel now is the time to give up, at least change to electronic cigs, for the sake of your looks.

Karin,
I don't think your breasts are going to grow any faster after quitting smoking. The smoking warning is due to the increased cancer risks than with Hormones alone. These are mainly GG cancers and how they affect males probably has not been extensively studied.

Smoking increases your risk of heart attack and stroke which are already elevated on HRT. It's not a good combination.
