I was out shopping en fem yesterday. I didn't have any particular plans, but I needed to get some cat food. I went to the Petco and had my purse in the cart. I kept my eye on it as I went about my shopping. The store and the parking lot were fairly empty, but you are supposed to be paying attention anyway.
I paid, walked to the car with car key in hand from the purse and opened the truck. I still had my purse in the cart. I wasn't going to put the purse in the car while I put the cart away. One extra step I wasn't going to worry about. So I took the cart back to the store entrance and left it outside where I had found it int he first place. I walk back to the car and sit down. I reach for my purse to pull the phone out and !!!!! no purse!!!! I look about for a sec then realized I had walked away from it in the cart. I get out and head back to the cart and no purse. All of three or four minutes was all the time it took.
Called the credit card companies first and called the police to report it stolen. They let me file the report over the phone. "I'm xxx and my purse was stolen." "Your purse?" "Yes, I was out shopping and I was at Petco outside and I made a mistake.... and forgot my purse." "Your purse?" It took a couple tries before she continued with the questions. At one point she said "wallet" I said I had an organizer purse and didn't need a wallet. "You lost your organizer too?" "No, I had an organizer purse, it has a built in wallet." So we finally got it all straight and I got my incident number. I almost went to the DMV en fem to get a new driver's license, but realized they might need a new picture. I wasn't going to tempt fate.
So I lost $60, some makeup including nice brushes, a cute purse, credit cards and my driver's license. My house key was in my purse. The house locks will be rekeyed on Monday -- saving a few dollars because we are home all weekend anyway. New credit cards are on the way, I have the new driver's license, I have an excuse to find a new cute purse, and will have to decide what to do about makeup and brushes. I lost time and a little morale. We checked with insurance companies about insurance cards, BTW. They didn't care.
So the bottom line ladies... Thieves don't care who's purse they take and we girls are just as fallible as all the other women in the world.

Re: How to lose a purse in one easy step
I learned from my time as a taxi driver, people lie, people cheat, people steal stuff. Not everyone is having a great time in their life, and they sometimes express that in the worse possible way. I tried not to let that keep me from enjoying the experience of meeting new people. I hope it works out the same way for you. The aggravation with replacing everything is a downside , no question about it.
The upside is, you've dealt with it, with your self esteem intact. Probably better than the a$$hole who took took your purse.

Oh what a pain!!! I feel for you... I think we all forget how much time and energy and effort it takes to recover from loosing a purse or wallet. Even worse when it's stolen I think. I confess! I've done both.
I'm one of those "forget your head if it wasn't attached" people.
Good luck...glad you see some of the bright side (shopping expedition for new stuff!).

"Professionals" steal to "earn-their-"Living", "Determined Amateurs" steal for their pleasure"/"weaknesses", "Amateurs" steal because they have "opportunity" /to "satisfy" their
"Weaknesses"
Sorry to "Show" you the facts like this, "Assume" the "Bogieman" is "Watching You Always"/ "Watch Your "Stuff", Always"!
IMHO, Most "Security" in "clubs" are not "trained" "Loss Prevention" "Operatives", they're "Goons" /"Bouncers" "Look out for yourself", In my case "Proper/trained" "Security" would have Observed my "Bogieman" and "assisted him" "Out" (from where he Didn't ""Belong") , As a "Gigging Musician", I ought to have been "Able" to "relax" on "stage"/off to the side with my gear"!!!
I Always "Cover My "***" with laSENZA panties"! How about You?

Hi Kimberly. Not sure if I ever "Explained" here "How" I "Broke "Out" >>>KimberlyS wrote:Guess you get to go purse shopping.
This reply shows up inthe pursetheft file although my intent is to reply to Kimberly about "finding a "balance" ??? OK?
Sure hope you don't have a "Stroke", but >>>
I began "visibly" wearing a bra last december to find "relief" from intense "skin Irritation" due to "clothing "chafing" my "weak side nipple due to "Neuropathy" resulting from "Stroke", "Then , months later, after the "pain "issue" was "resolved", I was beginning to "recover "Movement" on my "weak side arm" because of physical "muscle "Stimulation" on my body caused by "wearing" a bra", the "elasticity" of the band and straps was "Massaging" muscles that had been "sleeping" for 6 years. This "effect" /stimulation" began "communications" between these muscles and their associated "Brain muscle Control Areas". the neurons in the brain that were undamaged by "ischemia" 6 yrs ago were "happy" to be "getting stimulation" and they "woke up" their "Neighbouring"damaged "neurons" and further, the "weak side neurons began "copying" the "activity" of the "strong side" neurons" and "Mr.Bean" began his "recovery" the "scientific Principles" involved here are "Brain Plasticity" and "bilateral transfer" and "sex transmutation"!,
Now, I'm "Foxey" AND "Happy"
Love,
