You know the kind of thing, there you are at the mall in the food court minding your own business and trying to look intelligent when someone bangs into the table and sits down opposite you.
This day I was wearing my evil twins clothes, running shoes, jeans, and a lime green sweater.
There followed the classic I said, she said, scenario.

She said " Do you play guitar "
I looked up from my texting to see a girl about my age looking at me, I said, "Sorry, what "
She said " Do you play guitar, "
Our eyes met, and I could see she was smiling, I said " no why "
She said, "Because you have beautiful long nails "
I felt my mouth fall open, and my face grew hot, she was still staring into my eyes, I said, " Um, I, I, Um "
With a Mischievous smile she said, " Can I see them "
Void as I was of conscious thought I showed her my hand which she took in hers and she looked closely and said, " You could do with a manicure, and they are just a tad too long, but I wish I could get mine to look like these "
I could feel my face get hotter, then our eyes met again and she said, " Nice top by the way, "
I said, " Um thanks "
She then got up from the table, and said, " Don't worry, your secret is safe with me " winked at me and then walked off down the mall.

Now what do you suppose she meant by that...

I would say she read you dear, and trust me as I have been many a time and you too will be. No big deal just part of life.

Zephyr, dear . . . as Carol Ann said you were definitely 'read' by the GG, and that's okay.

She was impressed (and jealous) by your long nails, she was giving you a beauty tip, and liked your top.

She was definitely an 'ally' or she would not have begun a conversation with you, and keeping 'your secret' was a clear reinforcement of her being an 'ally'.


Yes, you'll get read again - it's just a fact of life, dear - and I would not worry about it.

My experience and position on this is it doesn't matter if you get read

What does mater is that I dress approporatly and act as a mature older woman
and that those I interface with treat me as such - with respect and dignity

I love being treated like a woman
(even though I have found that woman are given terrible service)

Once you make that hurdle - everything is easier

I'd say that she meant that she would like to go shopping and to the salon together. At least that's what I would want it to mean
