Hi ,

Okay having a think about Bag,s well I did write a little about that and how bags effect me in my day to day normal life,

and why I do things or dress the way I do. the ? was how do you wear or carry your bag hand bag or purse ,

As you know I make most of my clothes and design and sew them so that includes bags and purse,s
for our reinactment groups Edwardian and Renaissance , Scottish is included,

I don't think people think it strange I carry different bags because im allways doing Photo work and with our groups or going over sea,s a good back pack with camera,s and gear 5 camera,s and there are times I have some at our camps use two I have this is for a week so is really good for them to have an interest as well and they take some good shots that I know I cant do as I have other detail going on so its lovely for them and myself.

What im looking at now is a more pro Vidio Camcorder with a remote so its a good size 15 ins long shoulder held so another bag to think about, external mic , I don't like the small light hand held ones . any way , trying to work out what will be best for myself .

Now with this comes an idear of what should I dress in , I know in 1860,s there abouts our women of the day and not that it was pushed we had quite a few women who wonted to do photography yet many were not encouraged to take that on , so I had a look at what they wore ,I,v not come up with much as yet though will make a tri stand of timber and get it as close in looks to those time I had thought about the box detail so could be a bit of time to set it all up,

when I get the idear of those clothes I,ll set to and made them as well , bags not sure with that as yet ,

So for all that this woman may not have some aspects about her that would be counted as one who spends much time being entertained , she,s just too busy out there doing it, wether its photography , music or reinactment or time designing her garb or clothes or cooking for other,s .


Now heres something that I know would fit in is I have two camera,s of 1918 and 1920 plate bellows types so im some where close to my ideal of times 1900,s

I'm a little confused. Are you looking for a shoulder bag to lug how many pounds of equipment and that the bag look period-relevant?

Myself, when I traveled, I first started carrying my laptop in a shoulder bag. Too many years later, I was hurting to continue to do it so I got a roller bag. From the sounds of what you want to lug around, I wouldn't expect anything to be period-related, but some kind of trunk. Maybe you can get a trunk and a small dolly to move it on. Strap it on to deal with steps.

Anything you get to hold your equipment needs to be big enough to hold your purse as well; after all, you don't necessarily need to lug your equipment with you to the potty for example. You seriously don't want a bunch of separate bags unless you have one big thing to lug them with from destination to destination. I hope this answer is in line with your question.

Thanks for that. one backpack for most of my gear and 3 camera,s , one side bag camera and a large lens and miner gear, one sporran in front little makeup money purse passport and a few miner things ,
on the backpack 3 small bags 6 in x 4 in cords battereys and such,

that's for going over sea,s no other bags now im getting down to no clothes just what I wear I have clothes in Australia enough for as long as I stay there 6 weeks 8 weeks or longer if needed, so if its not on my back or side / front , tough I don't need it. now theres just one detail a laptop I can carry that in front or side strapped , so that give you an idear, though I may leave two cameras at home this next trip, because I may bring another one home a video larger one takes the space of two cameras , my camera,s are not small ,

When I come home I have to walk 4 miles or I may get picked up by some one here in waimate who knows me so I most time do two miles and get a lift, my timing is 1/4 of an hour per mile in army boots that's why I wear them .

I do have an army style back pack just cant swing that in the rack on the plane hence my other bags I can, and if short of room as I found out last trip two were next to me rack room was ooops none left,

and near the time I may revise it again and change it .

Just think no camera,s I,d just have one sporran gee that would be great oh well tough life ....a....

I am thinking along those lines of period not come up with a style yet that will be suitable , there is of cause the old sack type, ya ya ........
