Longevity is partly mental...partly physical

It's Friday!!!! Wait a minute...every day is Friday for me. I'm retired! That also means I don't have to feel the stress of Mondays, or the sense that we're over the hump on Wednesdays.
Thing is...not having stress...or any obligations can also bring stress.
Some stress is beneficial..like exercise, when we are problem solving and finding solutions this is good for our mental health. Without this weekly rhythm of stress...and anticipation of relief as a weekend approaches...we do not really have anything to look forward to and we do not receive the full benefit of this cycle. The relief the joyful relaxation of tension and the enjoyment that it brings is good for us mentally and physically. In retirement there is only the unhealthy sameness leading to a different and I think unhealthy form of stress perhaps leading to mental and physical decline.
I think we need that rhythm...at some level otherwise how can we ever really experience the full mental and physical release and joy of having a true vacation...where we relax. Where we sigh. Where we experience a thankful relief of the tension and relief from our busy life?
Ok..so what kind of work obligation would be enough to act like a vitamin for us? Could be a second career...opening a dream business doing something that employs your talents and desires...you do not have to get rich once retirement is locked in. Hum. Just a thought.
So...could be employing your woodworking and building skills...a book store? Teach? Mentorship? We all have innate talents abilities and skills...that we put aside because financially our careers made our lives and retirement with benefits possible. Who would give up that...for living on the bottom rung of life's ladder? Not me...or nearly anyone else...we cannot all be Elon Musk. Jimmy or Warren Buffett, or a tech tycoon who started out working in their garage.
Of course....this follows on from my thoughts on Longevity. Longevity is about healthspan...extending healthy years...but it is also about extending your stamina, your energy which dramatically boosts your drive and your desire to get out there because you feel as you did years ago! It is an amazing feeling...I think it is working...wow!
