Things are starting to open but are you?

I believe all states are starting to open things back up after the "first" wave of the coronavirus in in the rearview mirror. I am not going to go into whether we are really past the first wave nor question the wisdom of some in the methodology of opening however I do have a question for all. Now that things are starting to reopen are you personally ready for it? Are you ready to start going back to restaurants? Are you ready to go back to having your hair cut or done or have that manicure? What about services on Sunday? Amusement parks? The mall? Just taking a Saturday afternoon and go window shopping?
I admit to stopping at a local restaurant the other night on my way home from work for dinner. My original thought was to get something to go but the place was virtually empty so I decided to have dinner there. I also went to the salon and got my hair trimmed and my roots done as I am tired of doing themselves. Not sure I am ready to go back to the bar for a few drinks with friends or to go back to services.

Lets put it like this, the number of covid cases in town since the first of the month is over double prior to that total. We are staying out of the main stream. Just go out and get what we need and wear masks when we do. Our nights out are still take out/drive through and eat in the car some place.

I'm a pretty isolated person and for a long time one big way of overcoming that was to go and sit in a coffee shop every day and have a coffee. Then, 3 years ago, I stopped doing that. I used to get a couple of colds (or flu) every year. In the last 3 years I haven't had any (I hope I'm not tempting fate).
I'm treating the virus as being like colds/flu in terms of risks/ways of getting it. So my conclusion is the thing that really matters is to avoid sitting in an enclosed, small space with lots of people for an extended period. Just about anything else is OK. Which doesn't mean I'm going to follow my own logic - but that's what the logic says.
So far, the one and only re-opening thing I've done is go and buy some lip-liner and lipstick. Which I guess shows my priorities.

In spite of my age I am still in pretty good health for an old broad. On the other hand my SO is battling cancer and definitely high risk so no I am not ready to go back to even the new normal. I go to the stores when i need something and have been known to pick up a pizza or some subs to take home to eat but I am nowhere near ready to return to eating out in a restaurant or hit the mall even with a mask. Like Donna said tooo many out there not wearing masks and not properly social distancing.

Evening.
depends on where you live and how many people in the country5 Million for us and if your country is a small land mass, were we are is a small shire 3500 people waimate . 15.000 Oamaru .41,000 Timaru, and we are out of lockdown allmost back to normal ....except .... and what i have said is any one out side of our country wether they our people or not should not be coming back or in our border,s,
why well simple many came from places of where they were contaminated and should have gone straight to not 14 days in lockdown 4 weeks should have been the time. because whats happening is we are still getting case,s and they are the carrer,s and can spread like wild fire.
i dont care what the care less people say we have to be tough as to stop the spreading , so far we have done well considering all aspects just now is our time to pull all stops out and hunt down those who lied and slipped through the setup we have at the border,s
I,m glad they are seeing sense and waking up we are far from over this detail,
Two people should have been told no your not traveling from Auckland to Wellington they caused a lot of detail and lied about them self,s and where they went and who they saw, these are the people we can do with out, so as far as i,m concerened these idiots only cared about them self,s and no respect for other,s
..... Fool,s let loose cause major issues for so many people....,

With infection increases in more than half the states, I'm keeping a very low profile. I'm in my 70's, overweight, and have a few health problems. Wife's got problems, too. Frankly, I wish my kids & grandkids would stay away, especially since wife gets all touchy-feeling with 'em. I have no problem being a hermit 'till there's a vaccination and/or a cure out there!
