an ex of mine had some and we used to turn them goth/punk by making new clothes, applying paint as make up and dying their hair.

There was one I wanted to buy, in fact just recently. It was the Herman and Lily Munster Barbie dolls. I saw them only once in the store and never saw them again.

Yeah, I used to play with my Sisters Barbies and My Little Pony things :) She always brings it up to my niece, but I think it was the pink that I like about my sisters toys :)

Hi girls,

I have one Barbie, it is University Barbie and she is wearing the cheerleader outfit of a school i support in Football. I have never opened the box, as is true with most of my toy collection.

My real weakness is for stuffed animals. I love them I always have and still do. They are just so soft, and comforting. I guess you either feel it or you don't.

Love always,
Elizabeth

Elizabeth, I understand that weakness, as I've got it myself. I slept with stuffed animals as a child, but I never had much feeling for them. As I grew older, my perception of them has changed.

Stuffed animals can be an embodiment of love, either for oneself or for someone else. When I give one to someone else, it is a symbol of my love for that person, sometimes tied to other feelings that are represented by that animal (ex: a stuffed lion might embody a feeling of strength or nobility). There is a chain of stores called "Build a Bear Workshops". There is one nearby, but I have never been able to go there. Once, I got to handle a bear made by a child that had been there. That little bear "radiated" love.

Another thing I've discovered recently is my love of textures. I especially like really soft things, like the stuffed animals made for babies out of the chamois-textured terry. If you look in my gallery, there's a photo I did with my scanner of this hippo I picked up at WalMart. It's bright pink, about 30" long, and it's filled with some sort of polystyrene beads. To top it off, it's covered in a nylon/spandex weave, similar to good tights. It's very cuddly. If my cat won't sleep with me, the hippo is a nice substitute. @@9@@

Yes Mellissa. I collect Barbies and porclain dolls. I currently have 20 and I'm always looking for more. I'm running out of space to display them. I look at them sometimes and wish I had dresses just like theirs for myself.

Yes, I've been thinking about it. My interested began back in 1996 with the Atlanta Olympics as Mattel offered and Olympic gymnast Barbie. They had one that was a redhead (I was red at the time) and I was a performer in closing ceremonies. Never did get one but from time to time I look. A couple of years ago there was a combined collectible doll/model railroad show that I attended and I ended up chatting with one of the vendors who had a huge booth and was all Barbie. I told her about the Olympic edition and she also suggested a couple more. Maybe I need a girl hobby
