Ok Ok I am just patting myself on the back but I finally broke 230lbs. I have always been a big person. In fact the month before my wife's surgery, I was at 274lbs. In October of 2003, I started watching my diet. Did the Atkins thing and lost 20lbs in the first four weeks. When I eventually got to 230, I really stopped losing weight. I have been bouncing between 230 and 240 for over 6 months. Well I finally did it and got down to 229. //party

Ok now for the crummy part, the scale I have been using(it is one of those ones at the grocery store) is 4lbs off from the doctors scale but hey I will take my victories where I can get them. Even though the scale is 4lbs off, I heard the best thing to do was to use the same scale so that makes it 44lbs in 11 months. At one point after my wifes surgery, I was able to keep within 10 lbs of her but she has lost over 70lbs now and is really looking good.

Good Job! =D>

I started to get serious in August and have lost 15 lbs. Walking and swimming.

Was over 280 at the start.

My scale was off too. I compared the weaight from the gyms scale to the one at the Doctors office and they were close. I have one of the stand scales like the Dr and the gym. Found out that if I left the weights setting on my weight, it tended to throw the scale off. I reset them to zero, and that evening I found them to be off by 6 lbs :(

FEw yrs ago I lost 40 lbs, and then but them + back on.

Here's hoping we can keep it off!

Good for you losing 15 so far.

Unfortunetly, this biggest thing that stinks is I have a couple of skirts and dresses that are too big. :(

On the other hand, it does increase the selection of what will now fit at th stores.

Down to 250 this morning.

An apparently good thing has also occurred. I've been off my diabeties meds for a few weeks as they tended to cause my blood sugar to go too low (hypoglycemic). However, all blood testing has shown that my sugar level now remains in the normal range. I may have turned this Type II diabeties around [-o<

Diet and exercise girls, diet and exercise but............... they leave off the most critical aspect: DESIRE!! You gotta wanta lose it!!! As a competitive athlete I always say: you gotta want it!!!!!!/ how bad do you want it???!!!
Are you willing to make the sacrifices necessary to get it??
Girlpower!
Love,
