I mentioned my recent interest in standup comedy a while back and then I ran into this article... :-k

I wonder if Carol Liefer & I were neighbors at one point... :-k

your routine

Hey Lorna I really enjoyed that article---So I began to try and imagine how YOUR routine began....I'm guessing you had several. I've got to admit that I saw a movie on Lenny Bruce and never ever looked at stand up comedy the same since. Believe it or not---long ago, well not that long ago, just back in the 90's I used to work way in the hell out west in the Bering sea( really did!) and sometimes we'd end up in these crazy little island communities that were really really flush, sort of a geographical economy---a boom going on in a far away place. A few fancy hotels and bars in a place as stark as the moon, anyway sometimes there'd be these comics doing gigs there. Talk about edge of the world too, The Aleutian Islands!, wierd scene, but really there was something really appropriate about it---laughter is quite something-----so I'm dying to know how a routine of yours went....if you care to share those valuable trade secrets that is! Tell me about how a gig of yours went!----------------------- ----------------- 8) Tea Cake

Thanks hon!! (--)

The areas you mentioned do sound intriguing... I really need to travel more. I haven't been to Alaska since 1991...

Truth be told, most of my material pretty much wrote itself. I just began talking about crazy situations I get into as a CD - such as getting picked up by unsuspecting admirers, sitting vs standing in an empty ladies room, changing a tire while ppl are stopping to offer help... or what I'd do in an altercation.... All the while keeping us in a positive light & teaching a lesson (my GG friend got me into it & gave me that bit of advice)

So while I give a laugh I want to show the audience that we're not Jerry Springer circus freaks & we're not about to be pushed around... and the audience LOVES it.

One of these days I'm going to get my act on video or audio so I can upload it for everyone!
