Indians pitcher Kyle Denney was hit in the leg by a bullet that pierced the team bus on Wednesday night, but he was not seriously hurt thanks in part to his white cheerleading boots. Denney was dressed as a USC cheerleader as part of a rookie hazing ritual, and team trainers say that the high-riding boots may well have saved him from further injury. Still, the bullet called further attention to the fact that Denny doesn't really have the legs to pull the outfit off. -- from

Kathy,
I did not catch that, but thanks for sharing it. I have often worried about not being able to pull off the "cheerleader" outfit myself.
Love always,
Elizabeth

Hi Kathy. Yeah, I did catch it on the news, and in the paper as well. As usual it annoyed me that the damn jocks still see dressing as the female sex sufficiently demeaning to use it as a hazing technique. For that matter, so many of them seem to see females as less than human!! That's the way they used it when I was in highschool, and the members of the sports fraternity have yet to mature their attitudes. And the stupid fraternity system at southern schools are at least as bad!!!

Ok, sorry for the rant, but how these stupid jerks perceive people is just one of my pet peeves.
