Greatly mourned this side of the pond also. His passing has had plenty of media coverage.

Sadly missed. ~~oo~~ ~~oo~~

Rodney was a comic icon and will be greatly missed.

He taught me that I can laugh at myself

In memory of Rodney:
The origin of his "no respect" trademark: "I had this joke: `I played hide and seek; they wouldn't even look for me.' To make it work better, you look for something to put in front of it: I was so poor, I was so dumb, so this, so that. I thought, `Now what fits that joke?' Well, `No one liked me' was all right. But then I thought, a more profound thing would be, `I get no respect.'"

Joke of the day........October 6, 2004 (from Rodney.com) "I tell ya when I fly, I don't get no respect. I took one of those cheap flights, no frills. I finished eatin' and had to do the dishes. And I tell ya I got no confidence in the pilot. When he makes a left turn he puts his hand out."

"I went to see my doctor... Doctor Vidi-boom-ba. Yeah...I told him once, "Doctor, every morning when I get up and look in the mirror I feel like throwing up. What's wrong with me? He said, "I don't know, but your eyesight is perfect."

Thanks for the laughs ~~oo~~

I guess this is one time he won't leave'em rolling in the aisle. Except for the people in wheel chairs. No respect, none at all. :( IF there is a heaven, they all oughta be rolling on the floor tonight! We've lost some good ones over the last year.
