Hi TC--
I'm not heard of the provider (is this the same as the server?) taking any personal interest in what is or is not going on with an individual's computer. Is this common practice?

Anyway, I assume you're going to stay on long enough to read these replies. I've enjoyed your posts--please come back as soon as you can.

Hi Tea Cake, try going to "PC Housecall.com"
They have a free virus scan and fix a lot of problems FREE =D>
After that download AVG.6 (antivirus) it's also FREE =D> , I have used it for a long time now and it works, They also have regular free undates for new virus. Give it a try and best of luck, (--) Carol Ann

As a systems engineer (and Admin) a lot of providers now will disconenct or suspend services if they find a lot of virus traffic coming from an account. Normally they will notify the end user in advance and offer some help in removing the offending little pest.

I hope all goes well. You must have gotten one of the only MAC viruses out there.

Best of luck

Hello!

I think it's either fixed--or the provider here forgot to turn my account off since reactivating it yesterday. I am very suprised and so glad to be here right now.

Yesterday they had told me I had two-hours to try and come up with a virus cleaning...I had a hard time for some reason ---finding a cure I mean--and as my virtual-stamina began to fade--I sent out a flurry of msgs of my unplanned departure.

I live FAR FAR from towns where I can get online at a library or cafe---so I was going to try and keep my chin-up and accept the loss of this communication.

If that does happen---I hope my tin-can sattelite0-msgs will paint the sky in a colorful arc as I " check-out" for awhile.

I'll come back when I can.

( and I hope I'm not being over-dramatic!)

and thanks for the tips!--I found a free-norton anti-virus download last night.

maybe it's easier than I thought.

PEACE-OUT!!!!-----------------Tc

Tea Cake,

This is what I use, both have free editions. One is an anti virus the other is a fire wall.
