I loved the entire the View Askew Series. Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back. I have yet to see Jersey Girl though.

Snoogans...

Hi all,

Hey Lorna! But of course, but of course! 8) Can you say, "Silent Bob keychain"? 8) I love Kevin Smith! Dogma rules! (I mean Chris Rock as the 13th apostle? A stroke of genius!)

Oddly enough, Jersey Girl's his only film I've yet to see. :-k

And, seriously, where would Ben Affleck and Matt Damon be without Kevin Smith?

Love,
CJ

I hate to say it, but the only one of his films I've seen is Clerks. I used to work in a store not unlike the one in the film, and it was very true to life, at least in that respect. It is one of my favorite newer films. I read somewhere that Smith has started work on a sequel that picks up the character's lives 10 years on. I'll definitely have to see that one.

Well, then, Jaye, you'll just have to mosey on over to the video rental store to pick up a few of his other ones. My suggestions? Dogma (another stroke of genius: Alanis Morrisette as, well... certainly not as herself, let's just say) and Chasing Amy (now there's a twisted tale of unrequited love). Jay and Silent Bob (the latter played from the very first film--Clerks--by Kevin Smith himself) are fun (if foul-mouthed) characters but their routine can get a bit old, after a bit.

Kevin Smith sometimes explores spiritual issues related to his own faith (he's a practicing Catholic) in a very dark and twisted yet oh! so funny way. And the guy's got quite a mouth on him, too, I have to say. I love his work, I really do.

Love,
CJ

A Sequel to Clerks? That would be awesome!! Funny thing is Dante & Randall remind me of two friends of mine... rotf

I also remember the short-lived animated show...

Hi all,

Lorna,

Yep, it's been in the works for quite some time, now. Working title: The Passion of the Clerks. Hmmmm... wondering what the allusion could be here. :-k :P To read Kevin Smith's own thoughts on all this, just go here:
