Hmm, I replied to this post--it didn't appear.

It's the disease that strikes without warning. After a cancer scare, I listed all I want to do in the time remaining. I try to keep it realistic, and chip away at it.

My greatest fears?

During the 70's: bad trips and bell-bottom jeans
During the 80's: mental illness and global thermonuclear exchange
During the 90's: not living up to my potential as a person
In the last 5 years: being single for the rest of my life

My greatest fear is that the US flag will take on the same connotations as the Swastika within my lifetime.

My greatest fear is that, at the time of my death, I realize that over my entire lifetime I have accomplished... nothing.

This is soul searching stuff,

1. My greatest fear is death. I'll never be ready for it. So much to do, so little time left.

2. My second fear is time wont stand still. I'm 52 and there are still so many things I want to try.

3. I hope I have provided sufficient funds for myself and my wife in our old age.

4. I hope my wife's health does deteriorate any further.

hmmm

My greastest fear is my 3 grow (macho) sons will find out about Carol Ann.
My daughter knows as the wife told her about 2 years ago and her reply was "cool". She has never seen Carol Ann and has not said a word to me about it, she is the open mined one and excepts just about anyone as they are. But oh no not the boys they were brough up being tough and MEN. I fear that more then death itself, (--) Carol Ann

Hi girls,

I have read and come back to this thread three times now, each time saying to myself, I need to think about that.

The truth is, I am afraid of so many things, it's hard to really pick out just one. I have lived my entire life in fear of one kind or another. Having said that, I think my greatest fear is having to bury one of my kids. I have actually been afraid of even saying it, that I might cause a "jinx".

My second greatest fear is being alone. Not having anyone to share my life with. Not having anyone to love, or to be loved by. I have lived without love, and I am not sure life if worth living without it.

From there, I have zillions of fears. Fear of not measuing up, fear of not reaching my true potential, fear of not living my dreams, fear of high places, fear of relationships, fear of rejection, fear of auto mechanics, fear of cavities.

And you know what else? I am really afraid I am never going to get to wear a wedding dress.

Love always,
Elizabeth

I agree that buring one of kids is a great fear. My son, who is 24 now, is a full diabetic since he was 8. He has multiple health problems and it is a true fear that I have. and pray will not happen. Larry G.
