Did anyone happen to catch the new South Park last night?

In this episode, Mr. Garrison went thru SRS! Lookswise, he still retained his male face & bald head, but he had boobs & obviously a vagina. He was so funny, strutting around town in Capri pants & insisting on being called "Mrs Garrison".

At first I was very leery of this episode, worrying that they were going to poke fun at TGs, but then they showed Kyle going to the doctor wanting to be tall & black. He was called "Transracial". And then Kyle's dad wanted to be a dolphin & was referred to as "Trans-species".

I sort of had mixed feelings about whatever it was that episode was trying to say, but still I couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of "Transracial" and "Trans-species". Plus South Park has been known for poking fun at everything from celebrities to social groups to news issues. Then again you have to understand & appreciate the twisted humor of South Park.

South Park pokes fun at everything and everybody. That's what I love about it. If your group hasn't been offended by this show, then it must be too far below the radar to be noticed by anyone. My all time favorite was the battle between Jesus and Santa Claus over Christmas -- finally mediated by Brian Boitano. Enough material there to annoy 90 percent of the population. Ample parking day and night.

I wonder if they got the "Transracial" thing from Michael Jackson and reversed it?

Missed it, I'm afraid - too agitated over my work situation and the evening's session with my psychologist. Adult Swim reruns were about it for me. Speaking of which, has anyone else managed to catch an installment or two of Robot Chicken? Probably not basically any more offensive than South Park, but it's claymation, and the 3D nature of it seems to make it cut closer to the bone. Also no long-running setting or premise - really more along the lines of animated sketches.

Lorna, I missed the South Park program, but even in poking fun, it gets our situation into peoples minds even if it is done in jest. There are people out there who don't have a clue about TG/TS/CD and if this does nothing more than introduce them to the concept it was worth it. It can only make us more accepted, I believe, at least they know we exist.

Tamara - they most certainly do!! And they have us laughing when "proper ettiquette" dictates that we shouldn't but we laugh anyway... plus everyone in this world needs to laugh at themselves every so often.

Donna - I bet they did! In fact the doctor told Kyle it would be the reverse of Michael Jackson!

Celia - I love Adult Swim, especially Aqua Teen, Home Movies & the Venture Bros. I've only caught one or two episodes of Robot Chicken though. But I will say that it's hilarious!!

Virginia - you're right hon! Even in a silly context such as a South Park episode, the bottom line is that it does put us out there!

I saw it, and it was wrong on so many levels, but I couldn't stop laughing. But the whole SRS thing came right out of left field. I thought Mr. Garison was happy with Mr. Slave.
