Next several days will be a major bummer. :(

* SIGH *

The next several days are NOT going to be fun at all. :(

1) I won't be able to make it to my friend's birthday party on Friday after all. (BIG SUPRISE) because I'm working all weekend (AGAIN). Plus I have a load of bills due anyway. I'll be lucky if I have enough left over to eat. I have to quit that damn job. I'm sick of giving up my weekends for minimum wage. It's just not worth it. But I'm stuck there until I find a better job.

2) It looks like I'll be attending another funeral again real soon. My best friend's father has been in the hospital for the past month, and I just recieved word that his kidneys failed. The man has been like a second father to me. :(

If it's Springtime, then why am I feeling so sad? :(

Lorna,

I'm sorry that things are starting to look down for you again.

I remember on my 50th birthday I was going to go take some of my Birthday cake and ice cream to my mother but I was on call and that #$%^& pager went off. I had to go in to work instead.

I hope you can find a better job soon, but it would be a good idea to hold on to the current one until you do get a better one.

My mother passed away due to kidney failure over 3 years ago in her late 80s, so I've been there.

You and your friend's family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Lorna!!

Yeah, been there, done that, just threw away the T-shirt. Sorry you have to deal with it too. The mishmash we call a life is often far too transitory, and we find ourselves saying goodbye to those we would rather hold close. I expect to do it again in the near future. Nearly everyone I know is old, sick and tired. I think I will get a new T-shirt next time. Maybe it will just say, "sometimes life just sucks"!, but you know, I don't think that is original enough!! :? More thought required.

Love, Carolynn

Get even

Hi Lorna,
I got even, I was called into work one day and didnt go, instead I started me own bussiness. I used the skills I was taught at my job and started a carrier, it was so liberating. Now I work my own hours and am always turning work away but I can handle so much and theres not enough of me to go around. Use what you know and seek your own liberation, you cant make money working for someone else and there is alwys room for new bussinesses. If you need help starting up, apply for a government grant and let them help. Grants you dont have to pay back and they are great for getting a bootstrap jump in the bussiness world.

Good Luck,

Van

Thanks everybody... (--)

Hi Jadeanne - I'm so sorry about your mother. I guess it's the anticipation of the inevitable that's getting to me. He's been sick for well over a month, and well, the docs give him about a week or so. :?

In terms of my work I probably wouldn't actually say that things are "looking down" for me per se (I just recently started a couple of online businesses - we'll see how they do.) Plus I'm getting myself back out there with the web design.

I guess it's my friend's fathers failing health coupled with constantly missing nights out on weekends due to work that just had me a little depressed.

Hi Carolynn - That's so true. And I've been to so many funerals in the past 5 years alone. I guess we cant forget just how precious life is.

Hi Van Bagwell - I really hope to find a better job real soon. I don't want to still be where I am in a month's time. And in the meantime I have started up a couple of online businesses - I set up an online store thru eBay, plus I've gotten back in contact with my old business partner about future possible ventures. Plus I'm repromoting myself in terms of my web building. We'll see how that goes.

And I still have a long list of ideas that I've jotted down that I have yet to look into. Goverment grants, you say? It's definitely worth checking out. :-k

Best wishes to you and them Lorna. A friend's grandfather recently went into hospital, and it was a happy relief (and surprise if we're being honest)that he actually managed to make it through. Still, I know how it felt, and you all have my sympathies that it didn't work out there.
