Mordor name change

Hi Everyone,
We have been having some complaints about the name Mordor for our private debate group. So I decided to let everyone on the forum participate in renaming it which is only fair.
For those of you that are fairly new and don't know much about Mordor I'll try and describe it the best I can. Mordor was created because we had members that were posting some heated topics, from politics, gay rights, censorship, etc. Some members didn't like a lot of the arguing that was going on so we made it into a private usergroup. So this way it would make everyone happy.
So help us pick a better name for this group. You only get one name to put down per member so please think it over before you post. When we get a good number of names we'll talk it over and try to get it down to about 10. Then we'll take a poll so you can all select your favorite name...
Thanks,
Sharon(SO)

Hi Sharon I am not discontent with the present name. But I can understand why some would be.
Debate City... a place for the careful weighing of the reasons for or against something.

The Red Zone or Red Alert (I know, that's two, but they are so similar) :-)

Them's Fightin' Words! Okay, I'm being facetious.

But anyone who's perused
Mordor knows I'm not being
that facetious.

I like Sharon's tongue-in-cheek suggestion, "Tornado Alley." (And I would definitely vote yes on Lorna's "Deep Debate."

Hi!
I guess I am not too concerned by the label. Mordor
does present the sense of contentious, chaotic, sometimes acrimonious discussion the topics placed there can engender. Tornado Alley also suggests the "Tempest in a Teapot" sort of chaos.
Red Alert would be OK too.
One additional suggestion. To perhaps place a sense of perspective on the whole thing:
"Whatever Floats Your Boat". It would at least acknowledge in advance that there are going to be differing opinions, and that they are going to be discussed, and hopefully, recognized as the right of the individuals expressing them.
Love, Carolynn

Although I have never seen Mordor much less been able to read anything there, from what I gather, the name Tornado Alley seems to define what is located there and it doesn't seem too contentious a name.
Just one more opinion

I would find Lorna’s suggestion acceptable. Naming the area so as to suggest death and destruction seems like an invitation for less-than-constructive discussion. The underlying point is that as CD’s grow and become more accepting of themselves, they are likely to focus less on their own personal guilt and insecurities, and to focus more on features of society and culture that have negative consequences for crossdressers. There should be a place to discuss such matters. Inevitably, persons who first came here for sympathy will later want think more about larger external issues. Lorna’s suggested name is very direct and appropriate.

Hi girls,
I like several of the suggestions so far. Perhaps "Hot Topics" would be descriptive yet not contentious?
Love always,
Elizabeth

Hi,
I was one who objected to the name Morder. Tornado Ally seems to be in the same ilk. I felt like Jamie Anne that the name precluded that subjects such as politics, spirituality, civil rights were negative descussion subjects. I could just be naive in believing that such polarizing subjects can be explored in a civil and respectful manner among all that participate. I continue to hope that does not have to be the reality here.
"Hot Topics" feels appropriate to me.

I've never been to 'Mordor', so like some others I really don't know have any first hand knowledge of how the discussions evolve. I feel I would like to support "Hot Topics' as the new name.
Hugs,
Lynne
