I'm in big trouble tomorrow

Hi there,
I was watching the Tae-bo video I ordered laughing as I laid on the couch ready to take a siesta, but then I started doing some of the hand moves. The next thing you freaggin' know I'm standing up doing them other moves (and sweating) "Smithers! What is the foreign chemical on my skin!?"
The I started doing everything (it was over halfway over when I got up). That's not bad, right?
Weeeeeeell.. let me tell you what the smart me did then. I restarted it and did the whole thing again. 50+ minutes. The shower after felt good, but I am so dead when I go to sleep and wake up. My muscles haven't been used in years for anything really. I've been a lazy bum. Hey? Maybe if I never fall asleep the pain won't come.
I'm going to be laughed at so much tomorrow.
I feel the sleep coming upon me as is Freddie Kruger (Tae-Bo version) is summoning me to sleep so I can wake up in total agony and won't be able to move. BTW, I had a very messed up dream about him the other night. I didn't realize it was a dream at the time, but I decided in the dream to take him on. The day started turning into night, but in the dream I was wide awake, naturally, right? One time he ran past me and I tried to chase him, but he disappeared. When I woke up I was pretty happy I didn't try to get him since it was a dream.
Ok, back to Tae-Bo hell. Remember the saying by Evita, "Don't cry for me Argentina." Well.. I'd like some of that crying for me.
Wish me well. Ouch, just the thought of tomorrow is painful.

Hey hey there Beauty.
When I was contracting there were times when I would not have work for awhile, and I never did much in the way of regular exercise in those days. So I found myself where you are on a number of different times. My solution was regular strength Tylenol.
Worked for me. On the third or fourth day you won’t need to take anything.
The title of this thread gave me a scare though. Sure am glad it is not more serious.

Hi Beauty,
My ISP stopped cooperating, so I had to dial in again and Darlene beat me to the first reply.
The only thing I can take for muscle aches that doesn't conflict with all of my other medications is Tylenol, and I take the generic extra strength ones.
I wish I knew how to email some to you.
I also find a hot shower helpful, so that might be worth a try if you can make it to the shower.
Good luck tomorrow.

Morning!!
I was wrong. I feel a few aches (which I'll still take the advice of the gals and take Tylenol or Advil), but it's nothing like I thought it was going to be. :: huge sigh of relief ::
The DVD was called Basic Training so maybe he took it easy on us (those who have it). I mean I still was a big ball of sweat and right after I was so sore, but I feel ok. I'm not in the clear or anything, but I feel much better than I thought.
I love you all for caring though. Thank you!!!!

I'm sorry to hear about the soreness Beauty! I've always found some mild stretching and warm showers to do the trick. Well, i'm sure it's a sort of 'good' sore, the kind that you feel after doing something good!

Sharon and Lorna this is for you.. after my

I mean
Meanwhile Jill gets this.
As I was sitting on the couch I felt things getting tighter and starting to ache so after I read this thread I was like,

hmmmm.. and so I got up and did another workout with Mr. Banks and his helpers. I can't believe it, but it totally feels better now. I'm glad I read the thread and all kidding aside you all helped me.

Jill was right about the stretching. That's the reason I pressed play on the DVD player. At the beginning he stretches you out. I figured I'd stop, but nooooo.. he used those same mind powers he used yesterday. I also think Lorna's in with Mr Tae Bo, because she gave a hypnotic suggestion, "One you go Tae Bo you never go back" I'm on to you sister!

Anyhoo 50 minutes later I took Jill's next recommendation and took a nice warm shower. Thanks Dr. Jill.
These first two weeks are going to be the hardest. I hate this part about working out (getting started). ick!
Sharon is right I look totally stupid. I look like a 2 year old trying to dance like MC Hammer.
Thanks again everyone!!! I never thought I'd get workout support here too! Another facet of the forum we've unlocked.

Seriously though thanks for just saying something, anything. It helped me get past the second day and that's one of the toughest.

Good ol Billy Banks (or is Blanks?). The Tae Bo "basic" is a tough workout actually, always got my heart pumping. Never done the advanced.
My only rant about it is that some ppl that do Tae Bo (not saying you, Beauty) actually think they are learning a martial art at the same time. Oy.
Great workout, not great martial arts

Hi Aeryn,
I agree about it just being a workout DVD. I saw this movie (comedy) there was this lady who was fighting someone and when she got really fed up she started doing the Tae Bo moves, making fun of those who took it as learning martial arts.

She got her butt beaten too.
I plan on doing this basic one until my legs reach high enough. If that takes a year, ok!

I like watching re-runs.

I don't think it will, but I'm this dvd is boot camp and it's only basic training. It sounds like you got further than I am now and I'm dying on this one.
Advanced... well, that might take me in to 2010.

Well Done Beauty!
Once I had googled Tae Bo I understood where the pain might come from.
I don't think that martial art version has crossed the pond yet, even when u do export it I think I will leave it to the younger set like you Beauty... haha....

Maybe you need a pretty leotard and tights to make you feel all better

Well done Beauty

Hi Donna,
Thanks.

I'm still going strong with it.

I was a bit pooped last night after doing some updates to my site. I finished about 12am and instead of going to bed I did Tae Bo.
It was a great way to end a very busy day/morning.

I mean either I'm on the phone or I'll be doing the Tae Bo. thing.
Thanks again Donna.

Maybe I should get my hands on one of those tapes... I've been noticing the effects of heredity (getting my dad's belly), and I've been doing some running hoping to work it off... but maybe something like this Tae Bo thing will help out more. Also, I could keep it in the trailer so that I won't have to worry about uniform policies!
