My Experience
I noticed some talk of foreign link-sites advertising themselves here, so I wanted to tell you some of my recent experience. I don’t know how to say this without seeming prejudiced against other countries (which I don’t want to be), but these businesses operating out of Uzbekistan, Latvia, etc., can be bad news. A couple of months ago, I went to a web site with all kinds of crossdressing links on it. These link-sites get affiliate commissions for their links, but their real money comes from installing keylogger scripts on your computer. I didn’t know then that this site was just a way to get you clicking away. I clicked lots of links to see what I could find in the way of clothes, shoes, etc., for larger persons. Somewhere, I clicked on a link that put keylogger spyware on my computer. When my credit card ran up charges of about ₤2000 in one day, my bank got suspicious and stopped payment. (Fortunately, I had insurance and just had to pay a fraction of this.) I contacted the RCMP, which said that they did not have the resources to track down all the crime originating in the former Soviet countries except when national security was involved. They think the person was someone in Uzbekistan that was using a Latvian ISP to help cover their tracks. I am embarrassed to sound so prejudiced, but there is an awful lot of fraud out there that is originating in those little countries, where Canadian and United States laws do not apply.
Love,
Darlene
