A request for assistance . . .

I'm not sure quite how to put this. It's not my intention to draw people away from this good forum, but, Kathy GG, one of the few GG's at CDDF, is considering leaving--she's late into her pregnancy, and some forum newbie with all the social graces of -,,- Newt Gingrich -,,- raked her over the coals. Anyone who's spent time at CDDF can relate to the experience, and can well sympathize with Kathy. Anyone here who visits CDDF, if you happen to be swinging by that forum, please give Kathy some words of encouragement. [-o<

Yours,
Celia

Hi Celia. :) I did that earlier. Bliss and Angela, and I guess Linda, seem to be a bit "techy" most times, but I think Kathy is tired and uncomfortable and feeling a little fragile herself or she would just tell them to "get over it". She can use some support and TLC right now, for sure. That's the way one of my nieces felt just about at the same point in carrying her daughter back a few months ago. She's her irrascable self now. :)

I hope any positive things we post help improve the situation, Carolynn. That Bliss doesn't seem to let up. Tempting though it might be to say something to her, plenty of folks have already punched that porcupine, and it's sprouting replacement quills like a hydra regrowing heads!

Yours,
Celia

Oh, sorry Jadhe! CrossDressers Discussion Forum--Kathy seems to be feeling better at the moment, and it's been a troll jamboree today; so enter if you care too, but keep an open mind, a stiff upper lip, and a good sense of humor. :)

Hi Celia,

I wish there were a way of interacting with some of the fine folks on the CDDF without being subjected to the devastation caused by the Gatling guns and smart bombs going off over there... :?

I can certainly understand Kathy's frustration at the tone evident there over the last few months; I think it's a major loss for everyone involved when a CD forum (any CD forum) loses the input of GGs--something that happens whenever these leave, for fear of drowning in testosterone tsunamis.

All this has a direct bearing on Shannon's question about whether or not an "extreme" area be created on this forum. If the results are anything like what we've witnessed on the CDDF lately, I, for one, will revise my opinion by saying that I rather Shannon not create such a possible outlet for bellicosity and ego-driven misunderstandings.

I hear Kathy's voice in Lefty's firm opposition to this project. I wouldn't want to risk losing Lefty, Kay, Curly, the other SOs (and, indeed, anyone else here) by creating an alienating atmosphere on the forum. What we have here, girls and boys, is very precious. This site, and all you good people (and this includes participants with whose views and expression styles I may disagree) have been a soul-soothing balm to me and, though I've only been here for slightly less than three months, I've been affected, in the best possible way, by what I've experienced here.

I was hurting a couple of weeks ago and decided to take a little break. During that break, I found myself impoverished by your absence, all of you. I need you. All of you.

Despite our own recent flirt with fire, I think the temperature in the room never went above 98,6 degrees--a very human temperature. What's currently going on in the CDDF causes second- and third-degree burns. Although I know Kathy is pretty thick-skinned (she's said so herself on occasion), this may be a time in her life where she needs loving hugs in return for the ones she so freely gives, as protection against the flames over there.

Kathy, if you're listening, know that you're not alone right now, either here or on the CDDF. Please don't let yourself be driven away by individuals in search of a boxing opponent. Connection matters more than contentiousness. If I may be so bold as to lay my hand on your round belly, I do so while hoping that your little girl will grow up in a world that more closely resembles this forum than it does the CDDF.

Although there are many awesome people on the Parsimony forum, I have to say that I'd hesitate to recommend it to anyone, unfortunately.

Finally, in the spirit of this post, I sincerely apologize to anyone who may have been offended by something I may have written in the heat of my own anger. Although I realize that my own ego drives me also (and though I think of my ego as being relatively healthy), it's still no excuse.

I hope you have an awesome weekend (and an awesome life), people! :)

Love,
Christina

P.S.
Kathy, great big hugs to both you and Amanda (well, actually, maybe I can just hug your thigh or something, eh Kathy? )!

Eww...if the mean people there aren't enough to keep me away from that place in the future, I really don't like forums where all the topics are just on top of eachother. I really dislike that.

It might be a great place, who knows, but it's not a place for me.

Thank you for saying that Jadhe, *-*

I feel the same way... that is why we choose the forum idea for this site... that is why I get so lost when people have trouble "finding their way around" on this site.... to me digging through all those replies on CDDF is hopeless and frustrating....

Organization is a secondary issue at CDDF. Certainly I think that improvements could be made in that regard, but the main problem is a lack of sufficient moderation. Any idiot with an internet connection can easily spew his chum at the forum, and plenty do; and the cops are generally late (if they arrive at all). A few volunteers to share the policing duty there would probably help considerably, but the site's webmaster is difficult to get in touch with--e-mails go unanswered. Oh well, this is probably not the place to carp about the shortcomings of another forum. While I'm here, I should use and enjoy this board. :)

Yours,
Celia

Hi Celia :) , I have to agree with your post about the CDDF. But I would like to say also  , No better not :| . My mother always told me " if you cann't say something nice about somebody keep your mouth shut" Now I find that good advice, so as far as James goes and his forum :-$. (--) Carol Ann

Hi,

I still visit the CDDF, but not as much since I love it here. Angela, Penny T, Lorna, Terry Gal, Rikki and a few others keep that forum alive and kicking. :)

Flamers show up all the time, but James usually comes in after a few days and cleans them up. I guess it's just gotten so big that he can't keep up with it. If you post chances are your post will be buried in like 2 days because of the popularity of the site.

It's still refreshing to go there when there are fun or good topics.

Kathy GG's post was very well written and I think she very eloquently voiced how she's frustrated with people doubting she's a female, doubting other females who are trying to get help, and her feelings about the flaming period.

The CDDF regulars pulled together and made for a very refreshing thread.

I'm just glad to have her as a member here!! :) :) :) :) :) :)
