Freaky Fridays & Holiday Mishaps

Post by Lorna »

First - Payroll screws up my direct deposit (AGAIN) so I was missing 3 days' pay. Now I have to wait a week for them to correct THEIR screwup.

It never fails. ALWAYS on a damn holiday weekend. Helluva time for those idiots to botch up, right? This is nothing new to me. This sort of thing usually happens right before Christmas when I have not completed all of my shopping. Or before a birthday when i have not yet had a chance to get the person's gift. Typical. #-o (If you worked 2 jobs you'd have a lot of trouble finding free time I assure you)

Second - my friend who was picking me up to go to Fire Island for the Invasion... got into a car accident. Sheesh - what's next? #-o

No major worries though - my friend is okay and the weekend is still doable. No new perfume, no new shoes for me and my friend will have to take the train out here & I'll have to flip for the train to meet her out in the area - but at least the 4th is still a go, and as for my friend, she's totally fine and her car is fixable...

One would think that I'd be used to setbacks by now. After all, setbacks and unexpected mishaps are all a part of life. Escpecially MINE it seems, but no matter...

I'll just have to conserve this weekend - and no buying food while I'm out there. I'll just have to pack a few sandwiches before heading out. At least everyone drinks free @ the Pines!

I'm used to frustration & setbacks - it's been the same old thing my whole life, so why let this bother me at all? There's really no point in me being upset at all by any of this. I'm used to it. No worries. The Holiday lives on.

Thank you, Beauty! (--)

On a funnier side, recent events do remind me of Chevy Chase in the first National Lampoon's Vacation movie!

Fortunately there are no family trucksters or dogs tied to the bumper or dead aunts tied to the roof here! rotf
