Maureen Dowd

Post by Virginia »

I am trying to watch Tim Russert interview Maureen Dowd as she "promotes" her book "Are Men Necessary." First she said that Hillary Clinton was the most detrimental aspect of the women's movement, then she says she does not begin to understand men at all, then she said the feminine movement has done a 180 from what it's original design was. I am trying to figure out is she is a lesbian, a very very angry lesbian, a hetro-sexual female that has been totally "used" by men or is she just a retard! - sorry, mentally challenged whatever! She is not bad looking with that red hair and she speaks quite well, but I don't get it. I am definitely not going to buy her book to find out, at least not after listening to her postions on men and how overly complicated that men seem to be to her!!!! plus she evidently does not believe men are necessary for the propagation of the species. She is so defensive - I am giving in to the opinion that she just wants to say whatever is necessary to promote her book!!
If it begins making any sense I will take notes!

Hi Sis,

I am not aware of this person, and have no desire to look into who she is.

Judging from your description she appears to be someone who has been deeply injured in her life and has yet to be healed.

I will not attempt to give her any credibility by purchasing and/or reading her book, or promoting her work in any way. Such as discussing any of her opinions here.

She will likely make a few dollars off of those who are like minded, and it will unlikely go any further than that.

Cheers.

That's okay soon women will also be unneccesary. All we will need is a test tube and an eye dropper. True equality with men I guess.

i used to like some of Maureen Dowd's writings. Sounds like she has taken a turn for the worse though

Virginia:
I saw Maureen Dowd on the David Letterman Show last night and was not impressed with anything that she said relating to her book promotion tour of "Are Men Necessary".
Her comments on the need of having men around - to do physical work - and that women could handle it all.
It a guy made that comment that the only thing a woman was good at was "Cooking" the bra burners of the 60's and 70's would be writing the directors and producers of the show today..
It is a shame that news watchers in your case Tim Russert and late night TV we are feed this type of information.
