Moby, Our Amazing Gender Changing Dog!

We took Moby to the vets last night as we were concerned that his 'manhood' didn't seem to be developing along with the rest of him (nearly 6 months old now).
We said to the vet that we thought maybe Moby was the runt of the litter (he was the smallest) and his privates hadn't developed properly or that his testicles hadn't descended, or even that he may be a hermaphradite! We were not prepared for the vet to say 'he's a girl!' Ed replied with the immortal line 'in what sense is he a girl?!" We were stunned
This is weirder than finding out about Ed CDing...we were so used to Moby being a boy...now we are having to re-educate ourselves into saying she and her!
How stupid to we feel?! We took the breeder's word for it when they said he was a boy. I can't think how they got it wrong. Our excuse is, once told, we had no reason to have a close inspection of our little dog's privates. Moby was fom a very large litter so maybe they didn't check properly. When we went to choose a pup, there were six pups left. Five boys and one girl. They wanted to keep the bitch, so they put her away and let us choose from the five 'boys'. Maybe they put the wrong pup away and have kept a boy by mistake! Anyway, I instantly fell in love with Moby, she was the first pup to come up to me and Ed, being a big softie, said we'd go along with my choice, even though he thought we should have got a bigger pup, and one that didn't have a mottled nose. (we'd already decided we wanted a boy) At least, now we know she isn't a runt and we love her to bits, regardless, she is beautiful, though she will always be a bit tomboyish in our eyes, I suppose
Love,
