People who go on and on?

Has anyone on this board ever been disciplined for going on and on about something? I ask this because I have a tendency to do just that. I got thoroughly trashed on another board for going on and on about first leg shaving, and then being called a troll.

Daniel -

I don't know about other forums, but the 'discipline' I have seen here so far (which is from reading really old threads) is extended to those members who persist in not following this forum's guidelines, especially no flaming or name calling, which will never be tolerated here.

Is that the same forum you've mentioned in the past - where you've been ill-treated? If so, may I suggest you leave that forum? I'm just trying to help you, Daniel.

Hi Danial,

I have gone on and on many times. For some of us, certain issues need a lot of discussion. The only "discipline" I have ever seen from going on and on, is when two people are having a disagreement and the discussion has gone back and forth a few times. At this point a moderator may step in and ask that each person stop trying to "convert" the other person to thier point of view, which would be a rule violation.

If at this point the debate were to continue, in disregard of the moderator's warning, the thread couild be locked and posts deleted. I have seen these things happen, but it is very rare.

As far as being long winded, I am one of the biggest offenders. Sometimes I just can not summarize what I am thinking.

Hope that helps.

Love always,
Elizabeth

Daniel -- I remember the trashing you got from the "other" board. It got to be pretty uncomfortable and took up a lot of bandwidth. It's not like that here because the moderators are doing an excellent job and the members are generally self-policing in their posting.

Having said that, I think you'll find that an interesting topic will generate a lot of discussion here and people will continue to contribute as long as there is interest. If interest dies out and you continue to push the topic you'll end up talking to yourself.
