It's kind of a curiousity thing for me. When I realized (a few years ago) all that the internet had to offer, it didn't take me long to start searching for others like myself. I used the popular search engines like google and yahoo. Then I would find a website and link to others. I don't remember exactly whose site I was linking from, but I do remember it was a link from somebody's personal webpage.

This was my first, and still my favorite, forum.

I see so many new faces on the board lately, and I decided to ask.

I googled it, and it was not on the first page, nor was it the first site I checked out. It was however very sincere. I guess I was struck by the fact that when I read the posts, it really sounded like women talking. I knew I was in the right place.

I found my way here from a post on the CDDF forum by Shannon 2 1/2 years ago and joined here in the first month it was up.

Hi, Kyra!

A friend of mine, whom I met on the internet in the comments section of a particular blog, told me about this forum - after we had been exchanging emails for a while. So... who was that friend, you ask? Our own Zippy!!

Like Elizabeth, I checked out the forum first, and I was impressed by how it seemed like real women talking, and no matter the topic everyone remained polite and friendly, despite differences of opinion.

I haven't bothered to check out other forums - I'm impressed with the number of GG's here and their participation, and the CD's acceptance and seeking of the GG's opinions - so there's never been a need/desire to look elsewhere for answers.

The ladies at this forum are awesome, CD and GG alike, and there are quite a few ladies here that have become my best friends - - I am so blessed!

I discovered this place about a year ago. I frequented a different forum at the time, and had joined a second forum but visited it seldom. While this forum looked fine, I had no reason to leave the others. I also didn't care to add a third forum that I wouldn't have time to visit.

I recently started looking for a new forum because of disillusionment with my current forum. While there are other choices, this one looks to be best!

I think this forum will be a better fit for me.

Stephanie, I just joined this forum in January and I have join other forums but I feel this is the best one of all of them. At least for me. Welcome!

At one time or another I've been registered on 5 different forums (fora?, forae?, oh, whatever). Some I left because of the strife and nonstop bitchery. A couple left me. So here I am and here I'll stay.

I found this site through a friend Julie J, who doesn't post here anymore.

A couple of years ago I saw this forum mentioned on CDDF and when I looked here I saw people I'd got to know over time through the internet. I joined because I knew if they were here then it had to be a forum of quality, which we know is correct. Also it doesn't discriminate against anyone right across the spectrum which is a huge plus for me.

Well, she sure did see you trying to hide in that corner, Amelie -- but no more hiding that pretty face of yours!!

BTW - I really like the new avatars you've been using lately!! I think between Lorna and yourself you keep us all wondering what new avatar you two will be using on a daily basis. And here I thought that only us GG's had the right to change their minds!!

Lol! I saw you were here before I applied for an account. ^_^

I don't remember how I came across this site. I was looking for a forum/message board, and this was the first one that really appealed. I like the sense of peace here, of serenity. The tone here is very civil. Even when we gripe or argue, everyone is respectful of others' feelings. There is a members-only section for the really touchy stuff, but even there, there's very little fuss.

A friend suggested I join this forum, which I did last year. I am also a member of a couple other groups and lately have been searching for a place where I feel the most comfortable. I'm very tired of the bickering and rudeness on my current forum. I'm very impressed by the quality posts and the friendliness of the members on this forum.
