4 Major Life Priorities:

by Lorna
Prioritize the following four items according to your own personal feelings:

Family (Which Includes Children)
Self
Work (Career)
Spouse (Partner)

My personal answer:

Self
Work
Spouse (if I find one, great)
Family (stubborn hypocrites who still refuse to accept me for me)

Okay, your turn, ladies...

My priorities:

Self
Spouse / Partner - - the right partner will be 'tied' for first place with me - and I think I've found her!!
Work / Career - - I'd love to have more time to do my painting & other hobbies - but not 'work' per se!
Family - - a bunch of religious zealots that are also control freaks - argh!!

Side Note: I don't consider this thread to be a 'game' so I'm leaving it in this section.

I cannot separate spouse and family (meaning child) from self so I would have to put them equal first and work way down the list.

Love,
Curly.

Work (Career)
Family (Which Includes Children)
Self
Spouse (Partner) as I do not have one

1. Spouse and Family equally

2. Work

3. Self

Hi all,

Interesting exercise, Lorna.

My own list:

1. Self (without tending to this, you can tend to nothing else)
2. Family or spouse (although, at the moment, I live in this city alone)
3. Work (in a world where we didn't have to work, I probably wouldn't)

Now, if I were to add a fifth element to this list of priorities, it would be "Community"; in my case, that would come in fourth, after "family" and "spouse," but before "work" (even though the work I do now is community-based).

Love,
CJ

Kinda tough one because to me they are all equally as important, but if I must -

1 - Family
2 - Spouse
3 - Self
4 - Work

As I said, all equally important to me

1 family and spouse are the same thing for me. put them at sharing spot number one with self.

2 extended family like brother and sister which is all that is left

3 work which is a means to an end, i.e. eating and living in doors etc.

Yes, dear, I know that - - and I don't consider it to be one, either.

Lorna,

It is so nice to be hearing from you again (--)

Spouse (Partner)
The one person that knows all about me and accepts me and all my faults

Family (Which Includes Children)
After reading here and knowing other families, I am so very grateful for the family I have

Self
I do love myself but I try and put others before me

Work (Career)
Mine is over but I now can devote some time to "working" at something I love

Hugs to all, Paige

Before Five years ago?
Family (parents, sister, Aunts, nephew etc)
work (Mostly interesting)
self (let myself be defined by other's expectations)
spouse (didn't have one, didn't want one)

Now
Self (time for me now)
Family (dwindling--just mother, sister, nephew and their offspring)
Work (Retiring 12/31/06!! :) Tired, burned out, other priorities)
spouse (still don't want one)

What changed? I stopped trying to be only what others wanted me to be. That routine was killing me by inches and pounds while I lived in denial.

Love, Carolynn

I may sound selfish but me (self), 43 years of marriage, worked very hard to be where I'm at in retirement and own what I own. Time for me to be me Carol Ann and enjoy the remaining days I have left. I only ask to open the door and let me out to be free to be who and what I am. (--) Carol Ann

Self would be the only thing that I could list.

I have no family, they abandend me.

I have no job

I have no spouse, well I have a boyfriend, maybe this would be second.
