Hi all,

Here's a bit of fun with city webcam sites (some of these sites may require the downloading of viewing software, including Java or Macromedia Flash):

Montreal, Quebec (if you click on the "Old Port" section, you'll see where I'll be taking a dozen or so clients for a leisurely two-hour stroll around noon today): http://www.montrealcam.com/EN-sommaire.html

Houston, Texas: http://images.ibsys.com/hou/images/weat ... 40x480.jpg

Ottawa, Ontario: http://www.parliamenthill.gc.ca/text/hillcam_e.html

Toronto, Ontario: http://www.2ontario.com/webcam/home.asp

Vancouver, B.C.: http://www.numinous.ca/Webcam%20Page.htm

New York City, N.Y.: http://www.earthcam.com/usa/newyork/tim ... php?cam=10

London, England: http://www.earthcam.com/uk/england/lond ... .php?cam=2

Washington, D.C.: http://www.earthcam.com/usa/dc/metrosquare/

Miami, FLA: http://www.wannman.com/cam/

Boston, Mass.: http://www.earthcam.com/usa/massachusetts/boston/

Detroit, Michigan: http://www.earthcam.com/usa/michigan/detroit/dsc/

Chicago, Illinois: http://www.earthcam.com/usa/illinois/chicago/

Boulder, CO: http://9news.com/9live/boulder9.asp

Memphis, Tennessee: http://www.earthcam.com/bealestreet/

Los Angeles, CA: http://www.earthcam.com/usa/california/ ... hollywood/

San Francisco, CA: http://cbs5.com/webcams/local_slideshow ... ew?slide=0

Seattle, Washington (this is the Space Needle Cam--by far, the best webcam site I've seen): http://www.spaceneedle.com/webcam/

If you know of better sites or want to add your favorite city cams, by all means, go ahead!

Have fun!

Love,
CJ

These are my favorite webcams from, of course, Galicia Spain...

My favorites are Obradoiro Square, Quintana Square and PraterĂas square under A Coruna which are the squares at the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.

Hi Sharon,

Cool site. I remember checking it out when you came back from Spain. I'll have to look at it again a little later; looks like they're in the middle of the night over there.

Thanks for the link! 8)

CJ

Thanks CJ,
I'm so silly, you know what city I looked at first? My own when all I had to do is look out the window to see the weather! D'oh!

Try this one...

VERY cool! You can actually see into the courtyard of my building (little patch of green grass). :)

Terri... ))ok(( I love Google Earth too!

It's a beautiful, sunny day in London, but not a good day if you wanted to see Nelson's Column!

Here is my absolute favourite webcam (for now :) )....

Hi all,

Curly,

That's a pretty funky cam. There's something about the juxtaposition of bubbles and the Buddha that suggests impermanence, eh? In a south Florida garden, no less! I like it.

Terri,

I'd think all of us are, to some extent, uh, "domiciliocentric"; we check out our own homes first (you may have noticed that, in the cam list I provided, Montreal's at the very top--it's the first thing I looked for even though I, too, could've simply looked out my living-room window).

Friends had told me about Google Earth a while ago but I had never really checked it out. Well, I just installed it a few minutes ago and I have to say it's pretty awesome (and, yes, I saw your little patch of green grass!).

Thanks for the links, you two.

Love,
CJ
