To all who appear to be intollerent of the taste of vegemite , I find this hard to believe as everybodies tastes are different.
My advice is that "vegemite is not to be used as chocolate" , if you prepare a piece of buttered toast and apply the vegemite by spreading the "THINNEST POSSIBLE LAYER" it will give a great flavour .
When you cake Vegemite on "THICKLY" it tastes like car grease extract.

Hi Merinda,
I think you should explain to us Yanks and others that Vegemite is a substance unique to Australia, and unkown to the rest of the world.
It was invented by the Australian aboriginese, and made from a secret ingredient purported to originate from dried and reconstituted koalas and kangaroos.
To the average human, it has a taste and consistency of digested plastic, but to the Australian, whose palate has been honed by many gallons of Foster beer, it is considered delicious and nutritious.
All hail to Vegemite.
Hugs,
Lydia

Many years ago I had a house full of Autralian roomates. I was introduced to Vegemite at that time. One roomate used to eat it like peanut butter. She would do the yummy dance when she ate her vegemite sandwiches.

He just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich
Of course, everyone knows that the

Curly.
