Lunar Eclipse

Anyone else catch the lunar eclipse tonight? Was pretty cool!! My wife and I drove up to the top of a nearby hill to see it better.. It was partly cloudy but just after 7pm, the clouds parted and out poped the most beautiful red moon with just a sliver of white along the bottom... The eclipse actually happened below the horizon so if you were clowdless you should have seen a red moon rise... Will post a photo when I get it off my digital camera...

No

I'm really disappointed...I didn't know about it till I logged on a few minutes ago. It was visible here and a clear cloudless night so we would have had a fine view. As we are ahead in time here, we would have seen a dark red shadow creep over the moon as it was already risen.
Can someone let me know before, next time
Looking forward to seeing your pics, Karren
Love,
Curly.

The photos didn't turn out that great but here are three of them... Karren's hiding in the dark, behind the camera for once... hehe

What a bummer! I didn't know about it either. Thanks for the pics Karren. I've seen eclipses of the moon and the sun before, but it's still an awesome sight to view first-hand.
Hugs,
Kyra

I didn't know until I heard it on the news "and right now you can see an eclipse of the moon"
A couple of people in church this morning were discussing that it seemed that people were acting a little bit crazy yesterday and if it was the effect of the moon (and lunar eclipse)? They don't call them loonies for nothing!

I usually keep track of the majot eclipses and the majot meteor showers (Percieds in August and Leonids in November). Love to lay outside in the summer and watch shooting stars.. And satelites... Btw you can tell who's satelite it is by the orbit... Russians shoot over the poles and US shoots more east-westish...
Also love to drag out the telescope and look at Jupiter and its moons and Saturn and its rings...

I guess I must have been far too busy to look at any news items Friday/Saturday...people to see, places to go...
