Surprise! Surprise!

Post by Virginia »

The love of my life and I went out to get my bike today - 80 degrees and sunshine, we had to ride!!!!! It has been sitting under a tarp all winter! Took the tarp off, put the key in the ignition and she fired up like I had just shut her off!!! OH, its a Honda VTX 1800S cruiser - smooth as silk!!!!!

Well, we decided to go out and check on my boat as I was having trim tabs put on it! We get to the marina and it has been moved over next to the garage where they work on the boats. The trim tabs are on it but the entire outdrive is missing!!! :-k Well, our reason for going out there was to check on the condition of our life jackets and to ride the bike for a while. We pull back the cover and go inside. Then I wonder if he, the mechanic, had installed the batteries that I had left for him so he could check the trim tabs operation. So I raised the engine cover and yep, the batteries were installed and connected up to ----------------------------- well, the entire engine had been pulled!!!!!! Of course this time of the year they are closed on Sunday's and no one was around so tomorrow, I guess I will get the bad news. I have not heard from him so a lot of things are going through my mind! It is an I/O 5.4L EFI 370HP so you just don't drop it off. Yeah, I am going to sleep good tonight! Wonder if Jeannie has any of that wine left???

No, I was not enfemme, SL was though  she is always enfemme and she does not seem to want to change, imagine that! [-( We are going to take the bike out sometime with Virginia driving, but this just was not the time. When we do I will report how it went! Well, not everything 'cause we plan to take a blanket and find a nice secluded section of the Blue Ridge Parkway and ................ well I have said too much now!

Love you all,
Virginia

Zippy's definition of boat: noun; a hole in the water you pour money into.

(That's only because I don't care to deal with everything involved in owning and maintaining a nice boat.) My grandfather had a fishing boat and two crew boats and I grew up spending a lot of time with him on the Gulf of Mexico trawling for shrimp, crabs, and fish. Speaking of nice ones, on the drive back from Tampa Sunday we saw two different Chris Crafts in immaculate condition being towed north. One was full size, the other much smaller, but they were both absolutely beautiful.

I hope you get some good news on your baby!!

Kerri, my Scotch-Irish blood got tickled at that - hell I thought my ancestors were still hollowing out logs to make boats over there!

And as for you "Jeannie the Inquisitor" (you'll figure it out - maybe). There is an old adage, well it is a takeoff on an old adage, "The only difference between a girl and woman is the "size" of her boy!" Anyway, SL is more woman than I have ever had the pleasure of even attempting to to to (no, I am not going to say "that") attempting to, uh, well, since she will read this, edit it and possibly slap the pooh (I can say pooh can't I?) out of me if I use the wrong descriptive adjective - you're a wordsmith, think of something!!! ............. more woman than another woman deserves!!!! Yes, that works, well it works for us anyway. I love you, babe - speechless, yeah I am, come here and whisper in my ear!

Where was I? Oh yes, the marina called me today. Seems that a former employee not only failed to properly winterize my boat but a couple of others, as well. The block cracked and I get an whole new motor - no charge!!! Doing the "happy dance!" \:D/

You girls rock!!!!
Love you all,

Sorry to hear about your motor, but definitely glad to hear they're handling it. I just hope it's a top-notch shop that's rebuilding her for you. [-o<
