Thinking about You!

Thoughts are things!
Later in life, as we consider what we have seen and read over the years, we become more thoughtful, perhaps more considerate of those around us. All of this is of course due solely to the electrical/chemical process that goes on in our brain. We have collected and stored physical information about our experiences and we recall that information through a chemical and electrical process. The very same process that stores information, recalls information as well.
This process escapes us day-to-day. We only see the physical side of things. The alarm clock goes off, we get up, most of us….ha ha LOL. Bottom line is that we are well trained by society not to think about the process. Only the end results that we can measure with our checkbook or inventory. Day-to-day!
If we start to think, especially with this level of thinking, people will only point out that you cannot live by philosophy alone. That you need to get up and do something. This reminds me of a popular academic phrase: “Those who can, do. Those that cannot, teach.” It is not admired by those in the academic community but it does have a ring to it.
What I have learned about that is this. Not everyone is designed to “do” in a business sense. There are those that learn about the process from books and can spot and relate to a business in trouble for example. They can find and point out the short-comings of that business and be of some help to the business owner. Many academic institutions (Community Colleges’) provide business courses that are aimed directly at local small business.
Back to the brain!
Day-to-day thinking is what we are all doing everyday. No time to think about where we are going. Where we have been. Yet today, we must consider out outcome. Our employer is leaving it up to us to find a way into retirement. Many successful businessmen and woman have either a ten or 20 year business plan leading to their retirement. That’s right! You are not included!
Time to look around and see where you are going! Forget where you have been unless previous experience is needed to get into the future. A little food for thought as I too consider my options.

Well, I have told on numerous occasions what Virginia has done for/to me!!!
She has definitely made my life so much better. I am quieter, calmer, have much more empathy for virtually anyone in virtually any situation and it seem to come so naturally ---------- it's a girl thing!!!!!
The thing I noticed, several years ago was that it seem to come naturally. I don't have to think about it, or "force" myself to want to reach out and gently touch someone on the arm or to really want to listen to what they are saying and to let them finish talking. A tilt of the head, a gently knowing smile and that touch on the hand or arm. It seems to be magic to some people and to see that almost shocked look on their face, that someone actually is listening to them and cares about what they feel or are saying and for Virginia it is a sincere reflection of her! It is a wondrous thing to have.
Oh, she slips once in a while but she reflects on why and it is usually with good reason!
The verse in the Bible escapes me, but it is something to do with "not by words but by your deeds be known!"
There is also another adage that says, " there is no limit to the good that you can accomplish if you don't care who gets the credit!" Being nice to one another is hard to share credit with, but only if you are challenged! Like if someone says to you (while you may be "en drab"), "Why are you being (so) nice to me?" Your response? "It's my feminine side expressing herself!" Gutsy response!!!
Go forth Woman and BE!!!!!!!
Love,
Virginia
PS: No offense to Danielle or any teachers, but the end of the phrase that Danielle referenced " ......... and those who can't teach --- teach others to teach!"

HUM, food for the mind.
I will admit I'm not the greatest mind in the world. I am a doer not a tell you so type.
I was a lithographer all my life and was damn good at what I done, but never got patted on the back or a well done.
Now that I am retired I do as I want when I want, no deep thinking I get up shower and shave and the only problem I have is what outfit I want to wear today.
For what it's worth, I am at peace with myself and the world.

In the far reaches of physics there are people who believe that thought is the missing part of the Universal Field Theory, that our thoughts have power, like gravity or electro-magnetic attraction.
Arising out of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle it posits that conscious thought can change the very existence of matter.
The power of thoughts and the vibrations emanating from our thought patterns are part of an interconnected energy where a thought is actually a tangible mass that influences things seen as well as those things which are unseen.
On the downside, if this is true, then what we see as 'reality' is but a collective hallucination. Also it would suggest that there is only the material world, that thought, being part of the that world, has just not been measured.
P.S - I believe that the correct sequence is "those who can't do teach, those who can't teach teach gym, those who can't teach gym administrate and those who can't do that do student services." On the other hand, at most unions it is the people with the most skills that teach the craft.

Yet again another old adage, and I paraphrase, "when your mouth is open you are not learning anything." However when I see the complexity of the formulas required to study and understand the universe, I have to wonder where the ideas, knowledge, thought patterns actually come from. String Theory, parallel universes, dark matter, black energy, all those things are at best fascinating and we should be glad to know that there are those who are willing to study it.
I posted my thoughts about how advanced science is to the "average" person, when they can shoot a 200 pound package into space and I believe it went out to Pluto and on the way back they were able to hit a comet that was not much bigger than the satellite, take a chunk of the comet store it and bring it back to earth and the news about this unbelievable human accomplishment got virtually no press. Most of us can't even begin to fathom the math that went into that, even with computers, it is still "garbage in garbage out!" and we still did it! Some people evidently had some inkling of what they were doing!?
Yes, thoughts are powerful and the research into thoughts and ESP and the aura that can be photographed surrounding some of us. If we don't annihilate each other in the next 10 -15 years who knows what we will discover about our innate abilities.
I can only take small doses of this stuff at a time, but it is so interesting and I have found that if Virginia has on the right dress and heels with her make-up and nails done, well, it is a lot easier to study!!
Love ya,
Virginia

Yes NASA gets little coverage unless they can find a picture of the Virgin Mary on a barn. And no wonder. Fact is what NASA has done in the last couple of decades has been far worse for faith as defined then a million Darwins.

It is a shame that NASA doesn't get the credit it's due. The one thing I'm upset with is they never sent a woman to the moon. I wrote them a letter and asked why. They replied"It didn't need cleaning" Hugs

Hi all,
Seems this thread has generated, amongst other things, an interest in physics both classical and quantum. There are many sites on the internet that explain, clearly and simply, the basic aspects of physics. Here are just a few. Hope you have fun.
