I can't remember if I posted anything a few months back, but I lost my job back in June. Due to a combination of circumstances, I was unable to collect unemployment, and a couple of weeks ago, I lost my apartment in Charlotte. I have, somewhat reluctantly, moved back in with my parents in Portsmouth, Virginia. I've been here a couple of weeks, and haven't done much beyond looking for work. I landed another hotel job two days ago, and I'm settling in well. I am relatively confident that I'll be able to get back on my feet within a reasonable amount of time.
In Charlotte, I had a number of TG friends. I was a member of the Kappa Beta chapter of Tri-Ess, and had recently joined a new group called the Charlotte Gender Alliance. Now, I find myself in a seeming TG desert. I found a listing online for something called the "Hampton Roads Transgender Outreach", but all of their links are dead, and the email came back as "Undeliverable". If anyone here knows of anything, I'd be most appreciative.
I'm not even sure when I'm going to be able to dress again. My parents were mostly cool about me crossdressing when I was 300 miles away, but here they're worried about what their neighbors might think. My mom was a little distressed when I moved in, and I had more female clothes than male. All of my male clothes barely filled up one of those rectangular Rubbermaid tubs, while my femme stuff filled a second tub and a larger plastic trunk. Right now, I'm just happy to be working and making money again, but in a few weeks, I'm going to need to "stretch my legs". *SIGH*
