Dishwasher/skirt

Friday my wife came across a Maytag diswasher at Lowes which had been a returned order. It was reduced almost half price.
She's been complaining about the one we had because the coating on the racks has worn off in a couple of places and rusting. I looked up replacement racks online, and they cost around $100 each.
So, for an additional $50, I figured what the heck, get the new one. I installed the Maytag one we had almost 18 yrs ago, and it still works fine, but decided a new one will probably outlast me.
We went back to Lowes Saturday evening and it was still there, so we took it home with us.
Tore a vertical gash in the top tier of my gypsy skirt yesterday while installing the dishwasher yesterday. Need to lose weight!
My wife says she can fix it, no problem. But I had an idea for hiding the repair I need to run by her. Her machine can do embroidery, so I'm thinking of some white lace type embroidery filling in the top tier and going all the way around the skirt.
