As a matter of fact, I have been experiencing progressively more severe joint pains over the last several months, and may possibly have some form of arthritis. (I don't have a diagnosis yet because the specialist I was referred to has a *10 MONTH* waiting list. Ain't socialized Medicare grand?) I have essentially lost my job and been housebound for most of the winter, as just going outside in -30degree weather is almost enough to make me collapse. I feel your pain, sister! (literally)

Nothing new since having my thyroid removed, knock wood.

I had shin splints when I was in the Army, all that marching on pavement. Medical personnel didn't do a thing for me.

From shin splints to torn menisus to arthritis to not arthritis to " we just don't know what's wrong" finally an honest doctor.......These things are a big pain.

If it is just shin splints massage from a licensed massage therapist may help. I have found it helpful in a variety of things.

As for the arthritis well we all seem to get it but in my opinion it is a trash can diagnosis. It's been the explanation of choice for every doctor I've seen about my knee problems but the one doctor who did an arthroscopy and actually looked around said there was no arthritis and he had no idea what was wrong.

The good news Eureka is that at age 18 or so your body, given proper rest and nutrition, will probably heal itself.

I forget the medical term, but in my right foot I am enjoying a heel spur.
Boy is it fun!

Ouch!!! The areas of the balls of my feet right behind the toes has become more and more painful when standing or walking. Darn those 4 inch heels! Oh well, it's Advil and keep on going. I can't live without my heels.

I had shin splints every year I was in high school. You have all the empathy I can possibly provide. Take care, don't overdo it, and good luck.
